Is the Golden Triangle area in Texas any better than Louisiana?

I’m going to say it’s a little better because at least they have nice interstates and highways. You can see the difference as soon as you cross the state line at the Sabine River near Vinton, LA. The interstate immediately becomes wider, smoother, has more lights on the road, etc.

However, people have told me that the towns in that part of Texas are just as trashy as Louisiana. I’ve never actually done anything in those towns though. I’ve only passed through. Any of you ever live in those areas?

Go to the Evadale/Vidor area. That's where you see old money. Mansions, pristine lawns, F350s, etc.

I worked at the Gulf Oil refinery in Port Arthur during the early 80's.

The jokes was "it's good to be from Port Arthur. far away from..."

However. Treasure island wasn't too bad.

The areas are extremely similar due to the landscape. The noticeable difference I see is the percentage of pick-ups on the Texas side. It seems like 90% of the vehicles there are pick-ups with lift kits. I have always enjoyed sports cars and when I lived there I always felt like I was staring at the center of everyone else’s wheels when driving.

The Texans that live there are trashy. The money comes from the Jeets and Muslims.

Texas is infested with Jeets and Muslims.

They used to have a billboard with a picture of a local politician kicking over a tombstone. Alleging he was kkk.

Those towns are ok but don’t have a ton of character. I’ll take lake Charles / sulphur over those any day.

Does Barbers Hill count as Beaumont? I’d probably take that over anywhere in Louisiana.

That is the truth. A small percentage of the kids at our local high school went to college. Everyone planned to be a welder or to work in a plant. There were very few successful restaurants that weren’t Tex Mex, fried food or buffets. It isn’t exactly a desirable place for young college grads to live. When my wife and I finally moved to Baton Rouge, we felt like we had come to paradise, relatively speaking.

Baton Rouge is paradise compared to the Golden Triangle?
