Strange bump.
I purchased a tuxedo several years ago because I was going to at least two events a year that required one.

your link has "black tie optional" if you scroll down. Wear a tux or a dark suit.

It’s a very interesting question in our society I don’t know the answer to.

Why are we all so lazy and substandard?

bullshite. Decorum requires a tux. Go rent a fricking tux and try to separate yourself from the troglodytes and socially inept who get invited to events for which they are totally unsuited.

Depending on the event, the staff might be the ones in tuxedos and every time you try to walk to the bathroom someone will try to hand you their empty glass or ask you for another drink.

No shite.
Imagine today's Canal Street population being transported back to the 1940s and 50s when men wore suits and hats with women in ankle length dresses and gloves to go downtown in New Orleans.
Really is absolute degradation of civility from a social economic perspective.

Not kidding, I work in a “professional” setting. Just saw a dude walking around in shorts. Said his manager is based overseas and anyone who has a problem with it can speak to that guy.

the only time I ever saw my dad not in a suit and tie was either going hunting, fishing, or swimming, even then he wore a bathing suit

Feel so good about themselves that they insist on walking around looking like a bum too.
