Is the double monk strap shoe still in style?

These things have been around for awhile. Stylish?

I'm a fan. I've been eyeing some at the J&M store in the Riverwalk for a while, but I just know I won't get all that much wear out of them. Seems a couple years back they became the new 'in' dress shoe but that has died down a bit, but I still think they look sweet and have a place in any good rotation.

Looks like a pain in the arse to put on.

Allen Edmonds are much higher quality and alwways have factory second sales on monk strap shoes.
If these are your everyday work shoes, it would be a little much. As a periodic rotational shoe? It can have a place

I've got a pair and I'd consider them in style.
Pro tip: be careful what pants you wear. If they are baggy, it won't look right. They are more for skinnier pants legs. They also look better with no break or a little longer. If you're rocking full breaks, your probably won't look good with the monks

That particular store has some great sales if you keep an eye out. Anything that doesn't move quick seems to get marked down.

I much prefer the single strap.

Yes, they are back in style
The straps are really just decorative in most of them. There are bands of elastic connected to the tongue underneath the straps. You just slip them on like a loafer (although it is more burdensome to do so than with a loafer). Use a shoehorn

I'll bet you have an ironic mustache and wear plaid shirts.

I'm no fashionista, but those scream "trying too hard."

Yes, they are still "stylish". I have both a double strap and a single strap pair. The doubles are slightly more dressy. I don't wear them everyday, but they are a part of my rotation. I even wear them with suits on occasion, and they do just fine (i.e., they do not look out of place).

They are big in Dallas. Ironically enough, everyone who wears them tends to look like this:

I like mine. They are not difficult to put on. I usually keep the top unbuckled so they slip on easily.
