A little of both.

Agree...

Longview/Tyler and Lufkin feel southern while Lubbock, El Paso and San Antonio feel Western. Dallas feels confused IMO. It has elements of both.

It used to be very southern but due to yankee infiltration and intermarriage Texan descendants are denying their southern heritage.

4th Grade - U.S. Regions Southwest

Yeah this is why you have to question your education.

Texas is Texas. If you have to assign a region, you can't. Beaumont is closer to Jacksonville than El Paso. El Paso is closer to LA than Beaumont. It is a BIG state that defies convention other than the convention of Texas.

Longview sure isn't western, El Paso sure isn't southern, we can go on all day...

It's Texas. Embrace that. Love Texas.

Southeast Texas is more southern than western. The rest of Texas can claim western with no problems.

Here’s my obligatory: “Dalhart, Texas is closer to six other state capitals than it is to Austin, Texas”.

Considering how big Texas is... It can be both depending on where you're at

Texas is a little bit of both. Hard to beat the great state of Texas.

its a little southern and alot western. I grew up south of dallas in a small town. Moved to baton rouge 22 years ago. My family is originally from South Louisiana. When i was a kid i would come spend my summers with my family in louisiana and MS. it was like coming to another world.
