Is snow over-rated?

Okay, so I’ve lived in Louisiana since birth. The only time I ever saw real snow was during a trip to Tennessee when I was about 5 or 6. I’ve always longed to live in a place with a lot of snow (Colorado, Utah, etc.) especially because of the outdoor snow activities like sledding, snowboarding, and skiing. Also, snow during the holidays would be really cool.
I’ve heard good and bad things about snow, but I wanted to get the OT’s take. For those of you who live where there is abundant snowfall, do you love it, hate it, or are just meh about it?

depends on price and what it's cut with

It's great as long as you don't have to work in it.

Yes it is. Living in it several months out of the year becomes a real pain in the arse.

Snow is the only thing that makes winter temperatures worthwhile.

Definitely not
The week long snow-pocalypse we had in February was epic

It’s all about Mother Nature. I grew up in the snow in Michigan.... it can get pretty bad driving wise and it’s usually pretty cold for it to snow. But it can end up being a ton of fun......

People in areas that rarely, if ever, get snow romanticize the hell out of it. Seems like it'd be something that gets old in a hurry. Especially if you aren't a kid anymore.

I enjoy vacations in the snow more than I do beach trips.
I'd never live in a cold climate though. Being able to play golf and other activities outdoors year round is too big of a draw

I mean, there's a reason why so many Northerners are migrating south.

I've lived in Wisco for 7 years and still get pumped every time we're supposed to get a good snow.
Of course, I live 2 blocks from work and don't have to shovel so that helps

It is for me. Luckily I don't have to deal with it very often here in central Georgia because I hate it myself and I hate cold temperatures even worse. If it was feasible for me to move to south Florida or the Keys I would do it in an instant

Highly overrated
Especially up north where it only closes in blizzard type conditions, otherwise, you are expected to report to work
Plus if you live up there, you have to join snow plow groups or you will be outside shoveling snow to clear pathway out of your property

What about snowfall do you want us to offer an opinion on? Most things in life have both a pro and a con.

It's fun if you're skiing in the mountains, but after about 2 days of it here during the snowpocalypse I was over it.

Taxes and democrat lunacy aren't snow related.
Or hell, are they?

He had that one song but didn’t do much after that.

As a kid, snow is awesome. As an adult, it sucks for the most part but can be fun depending on circumstances

Lived in Alabama for 20+ years and rarely ever saw it. Have lived in Colorado for the last 8 years at this point. For the first 2-3 years it was pretty awesome to get 10+ inches of snow a few times a year and get to experience it. After that, it can be a pretty big pain to deal with. Driving in it becomes old fast and the complete lack of any other moisture makes everyone's yard so difficult to maintain. Where I live in Colorado we got 3 inches of snow yesterday in early May. Three years ago we got 8 inches of snow on May 22nd. THAT is not fun - sometimes it feels like it never stops.

Nah, its awesome. The more, the better.
Good powder is incredible. Slush sucks. Unfortunately most of the country gets slush or icy snow.
