Don't sleep on Underground Garage...

My wife has it in her car and I enjoy listening to it. I would survive without it but I do enjoy listening to it when I’m in her vehicle

I'm 43 and listen to all 3 of those stations regularly. Guess I'm an old white guy.
And Billy Joel fricking rules.

No. Satellite radio now feels like where AM/FM radio used to be (it's even worse now, of course). The SiriusXM merger years ago killed off the few stations I liked listening to. Howard is washed now and the other talk radio stations are pretty generic. The most cutting edge and popular stuff is on podcasts via Spotify or other podcast apps. Before you travel, just plan ahead by adding music playlists and podcast shows.

Truth is truth.

He’s cool, some great songs, good 80s icon overall too, but he doesn’t rule.

as for me, i just put it on my calendar to call once per year for like 20 minutes, tell them i cant afford whatever price they have me set to renew at- then i say im going to be forced to cancel if i cant get the same deal (or better) that i got last year- and then shut up and let them talk…. always works for me, with very little effort or negotiation .
Next time try the live chat, even faster

There’s another channel you would enjoy, Old Basic White Guy.
Sounds like almost heaven, West Virginia

You can do it all online now. I just cancelled/renewed yesterday.
Cancel online through your login, they ask are you sure then they send you to a chat. They ask why I said “promo period ending”. The chat bot immediately offered another 12 months at $6 and that was that.
I did the same on Tuesday lol. But it didn't even take me to chat, as soon as I hit cancel the $6 save offer immediately popped up and I selected it. The past couple years before it would take to me to the chat to get the offers but this time I was done in 30 seconds.
For me it's:
XMU
Alt Nation (frick Madison and her fricking voice)
Turbo/Lithium depending on my nostalgia at the moment
The Spectrum
The Verge (super underrated alt rock station in the Canadian section of channels)
Siriusxm FC

Not for us but it really depends on your situation. I tried xm for a few years then switched to Apple Music for a family of 6 where we can all listen to what we want when we want on any device for only $16.99. Even making a playlist like the xm stations as well w/o the DJ.

Why get it when you have WWL with its tard hosts and callers?
Posted on 1/24/25 at 10:45 pm to Eightballjacket
I would get it but….
I have Spotify for music/podcast
I have YoutubeTV for all things sports and news.
I can listen to both in my car or anywhere else for that matter.
I can’t find a single reason SiriusXM would be beneficial.

Why would I want to do that, especially for music?
Part of the appeal of radio is not knowing what's coming next.
I suppose I need to negotiate harder. I'm paying $10 to get everything at Sirius.
The college football is nice, especially in the app, very easy to switch between games, and channel 84 is a good sports station - Jacob Hester on in the afternoon.

Im an old Gen Xer, i feel more comfortable speaking on the phone lol.. plus their call centers are in the Philippines, so i get to speak with a Filipina who i imagine is cute (though could look like a beast) and i get tips for which beaches /islands to check out when i visit .

You don't have to make the actual playlist (though you can). There are hundreds of pre-made playlists compiled by curators catering to any kind of mood you're in. Essentially, like radio channels--but as diverse or focused as you want. That's how many people discover new music now.

Please explain to me where i can get dozens of live sports talk coverage (espn, Fox sports, Mad Dog) plus dozens of live talk, politics, news stations .. plus all the 70s and 80s and mixed music.. all for under $9 per month.. i am all ears , b/c if that can be accomplished (not podcasts, which i can get anywhere and often do) but all the live stuff and vast music library- then I might reconsider something other than Sirius XM .

No. The worst sound quality available and you pay for the privilege.
Posted on 1/24/25 at 11:11 pm to prplhze2000
Probably, though I wish I could pay $2 a month for 90s on 9, Lithium, and XLturbo. Maybe another 50 cents for a country channel and one of the comedy channels.
Summary, it's cool but you pay for about 100 channels you'll never even explore.
