Pointe Coupee has terrible public schools. Livonia used to be a good school but now it’s a holy terror since they closed Central PC and combined all high schools into one at Livonia.

Which area of BR are you working in?

St Francisville is an easier drive and has better schools.

All depends on where you work. If he's working at Perkins and Highland the commute from St Francisville would suck. To Exxon, not so bad.

I'm basing it mostly on not having to cross the river.

Jim, you are in North Louisiana.
Your opinion is invalid.

I wouldn't want to do it daily either.
The old Bridge isn't usually as bad as the new one though.

That's definitely an option. I was asking about New Roads because my realtor had mentioned it as an option

Eta: I dont have kids so not extremely worried about the schools

St Francisville is a nice little town if you prefer that kind of setting.

Just consider that if you are working in south BR you'll be dealing with BR rush hour and then you'll still have 25 miles to go when you get through it. If you are working north of the I-10/I-110 split it wouldn't be bad.

True. I'm in an apartment now in BR and sometimes driving all the back to Broussard when the ole lady says she opened wine. That bridge is a freaking nightmare.

There are plenty of decent suburbs around BR where you don't have to deal with the bridge. Zachary, Central/Pride, Prairieville/Dutchtown, Watson etc.

If you don't have kids and don't have to worry about schools, the southern part of EBRP (St George area) is safe to live in and there's more to do.

In one post you confirmed my original post and then added pedophilia to the mix.

Not trying to get in your pissing match, but this is wrong. Your daughter would have to be post-pubescent to get pregnant. This, by definition, would make her unable to be the target of a pedophile.

NR is a nice little town. Shitty schools if that’s a factor for you. St. Francisville/Zachary would be a better choice. You’re still gonna have to drive to BR to do things tho.

Anyone from New Roads know a Beau Morgan that died in early 2000s from an aneurysm? He was in his early 20s, was a good friend of mine. I think he grew up in BR though, but was originally from NR

I'm the outdoors type. I live in the woods or on my boat when I'm not at work so that isnt an issue. I'm staying in the city during the week now and I'm not about it
