I wear contacts daily and absolutely hate them. I've been wearing them for almost 15 years and I'm still not very good at taking them in or out. My eyes are always dry and drops never seem to work well. I've heard that Lasik has gotten a lot cheaper and most insurance covers a good bit of it.

I watched a video on it and it looks horrifying. Is the end result worth it?

I've thought about getting it, but recently had to get some metal grinded out of my eye and decided I don't like eye Drs either now.

It was for me. They gave Valium for the procedure and I took a nap when I got home. When I woke up, I was blown away with how good I could see.

I had it done 2 years ago and it was worth it. My vision is great and it's awesome not having to worry about messing with contacts before going to bed and when you wake up in the morning.

One thing it messed up for me is contrast sensitivity. So, I see worse in dark areas than I did before, yet when it's bright outside, I need sunglasses or I feel blinded. But considering all the hassle of contacts and how well I see otherwise, I would probably do it again.

I had PRK 15 years ago after wearing glasses and contacts for 17 years.

The survery was a little intense than regualar LASIK....my recovery was longer and more painful.

It's lasted a good 12-13 years before my vision started to fade due to age. I tried to see if they could give me an upgrade and I got denied so I've wearing readers for the past 3 years.....they found some cataract but I'm too young for my insurance to cover it so I have to wait till I get older before I qualify.

FTR, I was 32 when I had my surgery...so if you are in your 30's or younger it's def worth it

Been wearing contacts for about 25 years with pretty god awful eyesight -7.50 and -6.50) now as I get older my eyes start to dry out all the time and constantly putting drops in as well

I find myself wearing glasses more often just to not deal with the discomfort and the drops

Never had this problem until last year .

Also debating lasik, although I’ve had Optometrists tell me I would have chronic dry eye after the procedure , which would put me in the same place I’m already in

Oh hell yeah!

Painless two minute procedure.

It's been 20 years+ and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Paid for itself many times over from not buying prescription glasses.
