Hollyhill area is looking fine for now. Haven't heard of any flooding on the east side from the bayou.
Trying to decide whether to brave it on the interstate and head east with the family or sit here and see what happens...

Rain has slacked off now. Downtown looks to be flooding in the usual areas, nothing catastrophic though. KPLC reported a tornado southwest of Iowa. Also said tornado watch for Calcasieu has been cancelled as of a few minutes ago.

I came in to work this morning (CITGO) but am non-essential so if it gets bad, I'm heading home (south LC off Gauthier).
You guys think I'm good here or should I head home around lunch?

you're good there. Looks like we're about to get a prolonged break from the rain.

The airport cancelled all flights today

I have a flight out of Hobby Friday morning to Kansas City for a wedding this weekend. I told my wife this morning to decide if she was up for driving to KC because I don't think we'll be flying.

I have a flight out of LC to Cali tomorrow. Doubt it happens. I will yet again postpone it. Was supposed to leave Saturday.

Didn't see this. My flight is at 2:03 PM tomorrow. Still shows on time. Playing it by ear.

Stout, your flight will depend on if the plane comes in from the dfw to lch that is at noon. I'm the 2:03 flight Wednesday and in the same exact situation basically.

Yeah, I'm regretting not getting the insurance.

Just drove through LC and it is a ghost town. Everything is closed like we have never dealt with rain like this before. The rain is not that bad yet but I guess they are giving people time to prepare. Just shocked so many businesses were closed.

i will say this. there is flooding when it's raining for long periods of time, but when the rain subsides for even like 20-30 min, it drains. it's really only dangerous if you're driving when it's raining (and has been)

I tried to make it to work downtown this morning. The usual spots had water but the rain had slacked off for about an hour and seemed like the water was taking a bit longer than usual to drain.
I haven't been out in a few hours but I'm assuming the water has pretty much receded.

Thanks for the update. Heading back to LC shortly, client (plant) wants to try and work tomorrow.
