Ahhhhh didn't think of that

I learned to ride out in the country many years ago and loved it but I have never gotten over a fear of cars so never really rode.

I took the MSF course years ago.

Great for starting riders and fundamentals.

My advice, be moving much faster or much slower than surrounding traffic.

You can ride and escape injury if you pay attention but if you do get in a collision the results are much worse without a metal cage around you.

About 100 of us put on 11k plus miles in 11 days during the IBR and there are shockingly few DNFs due to crashes.

Do you want to be laying on the side of the road about to die wishing you had taken that class or would you rather be laying on the side of the road about to die knowing you did everything the right way

Take the basic rider course 1&2. You’ll learn how to ride a motorcycle properly and all the things you have to lookout for while riding.

For example, 60% of motorcycle accidents are from cars making a left hand turn in front of a motorcycle. You’ll be very aware of anyone who might make a left hand turn and be prepared to evade or stop.

When have the seat time and understand how to manage road risks, you can make a decision if it’s something you want to do.

I wish it was, because I'd still be riding. All 3 times were the exact same thing. Riding down a 2 lane RD and a vehicle on my right attempts to either turn left or go across all lanes of traffic including a turning lane. All 3 drivers said the exact same thing. "I didn't see you." I had a bright yellow slicker suit on for one of those.
