I love being alone. I'm around people all day every day and sometimes I just want to be left alone with an entire day.

I haven't had my house alone in almost two years since our first son was born. My wife is taking him back to Virginia to see her family over Thanksgiving and I somehow successfully convinced her I can't take off and need to work. I've had trouble hiding my excitement for those three days of peace and relaxation. She picked up on it and said something the other day to the effect of "I can't believe you're not upset you're not going with your son to see family and enjoy Thanksgiving". She just doesn't get it that we all need alone time. Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to this. I'm only wearing boxers, having no liquids without alcohol, and watching football. It's gonna be glorious.

No, it is not weird. Solitude is a beautiful thing. My husband used to work offshore and I loved it because I could get into my own routine and do things my own way without any input. It was totally peaceful.

Not unreasonable. If you explain it to her and she still doesn't get it, she never will and it will always be an issue. Is that something you want to fight about for the duration of your relationship?
I'm introverted married to an extrovert and while he understands when I say I need alone time it isn't anything against him, he just doesn't get why someone would need to be alone. But at least he respects my need. My mom is the opposite, even after 40 years of marriage she complains that my dad doesn't want to spend every spare minute with her. They retired a couple of years ago and my mom is practically in tears that my dad would want go fishing without her. She doesn't understand his need to get away from people has nothing to do with her, she just calls me every few months crying about it.

Which is pretty much what I love to do without being judged I drank more than 3 beers before the half.

Good luck. My son is the only person I don't need alone time from. But in fairness I am divorced and only see him 4-5 days per week.

I'm the same way. Then I got married. I get her drunk and play madden til about 2am to get my alone time now.

I love my alone time. I have hobbies and interests that I would rather be alone when working on them. I don't have much time for others who don't share the same interests.

That's one of the reason I enjoy hunting. Can go sit on the deer stand for a few hours, walk in the woods by myself.

Totally normal for an introvert. I do the same thing. If i have a houseful of people, sometimes i will just go in my bedroom for a few minutes. As I get older, it gets worse.
