Guilt
I would like to tell boss this isn't working because if I negotiate job in hand think there is no coming back from that

If your current company went under, you honestly think they would worry how that affects you? No. They would do what's best for them. Your dedication is commendable but you have to do what's best for you and your family. If your current company went under, where does that leave you?

What is in YOUR best interest? You need to learn that you should never be too loyal to your employer because they sure as shite will not be loyal to you.

Feeling guilty about thinking of a move.

One of my employees resigned last week for a new position. While on maternity leave. More money and better benefits. No hard feelings from me.

Why would you have even one ounce of guilt? They would lay you off in a heartbeat if it was warranted. There's such thing as loyalty anymore.

Your employer does not give two shits about you. No reason to feel guilty or give notice unless. Giving notice just leaves management with two extra weeks to figure out how to frick you over.

If you died today- your job would be posted before you were in the ground. Do what’s best for you and your family.

You should never feel guilty for doing what's best for you and your family. Just do things the right way and don't burn bridges.

You should never feel bad about doing what is in your best interest. I feel no remorse when I terminate someone. I’m doing what’s best for my company, and I expect my employees to do the same for themselves. Luckily we don’t have a lot of turn over, but I’m confident we can replace anyone if they choose to leave.

Just leave on good terms and enjoy the new adventure.

Most companies have zero allegiance.

In turn, employees shouldn't have allegiance either.

Hell no, they'll fire you or lay you off 'in current environment.'

Do what's best for you and your family.

I just lost a fellow employee to a job cut. He'd been with the company 34 years. I've been with the company almost 5 years. I'm still here. He isn't.

Loyalty didn't work out for him. Screw loyalty. Only YOU matter.

I worked in a god-forsaken hospital in Ruston for a while. My supervisor, on a whim, came in and told me I had to cut an FTE. Told him, we couldn't in the technical area and we were at minimum staffing in the non-technical. On a whim, with no statistics to back himself up, and we had plenty of stats, I let go a 35 year employee that was the sole supporter of his invalid wife and very sick daughter. The man had no skills other than what he did for us. My supervisor name was tripp, or something like that, a really stupid person. Bottom line- you're just a number to corporate, leave if you want.

Why would the current environment make a difference in being selfish or not? Is it bettering yourself and your family? You always need to make the best decisions to support your family no matter what’s going on in the world
