Is it possible to test positive for CV, but not have any symptoms? If it is, then the infection and mortality rates could be really skewed. These rates are based on those tested vs positive results vs deaths. Why get tested if you aren't showing any symptoms or have not be potentially exposed. So, in theory, there could be 100,000 plus people infected w/o symptoms, that have not been tested. Which would potentially push the mortality rates lower. What's your thoughts?

Don't bring your logic to the situation. Now is the time for panic, not math.

This is currently happening. Many people are infected but never show symptoms which is the whole point of the social distancing crap. You could be spreading it around and not know you have it

All things are possible through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Have a blessed day.

Pretty sure I had it. Only symptom I showed was the anal bleeding but other than that felt ok just a little tired.

That this idea isn’t exactly new......

We have mountains of data on outcomes after admission

It’s why a lot of modelers are focusing on the SK data for examples, which works out to be around a 1% mortality rate.

~80% of overall cases are mild and most probably won’t even see a doctor.

~15% are serious cases requiring medical intervention, possibly hospitalization

~5% need intensive medical intervention.

Op you realize that’s what happens with kids and young people right? Kids get it but are largely asymptomatic.

Yes, the fact is the government doesn’t want to officially say that a huge percentage of people are going to get it and it doesn’t effect most people. We still don’t want everyone to get it right away that’s why social distancing is important. But we also don’t need to completely shut down society.

Likely is less deadly and more contagious. Which changes dynamics but doesn’t eliminate worry. If at risk populations can catch it easier than we think it’s still a big issue as their segments death rates will still be relatively high.

I don’t think you can be tested unless your symptoms are bad enough to resemble the virus. From what I’ve read, if a doctor thinks your symptoms are worthy then you can be tested.

Yes it happens all the time. Christian Wood (basketball player for the Pistons) tested positive with no symptoms, and played the two best games of his career with it.

The social distancing is about a month too late at this point.
