The CVT transmission doesn’t concern you?

I'm not a car guy. I don't even know what that means.

We drove an Altima from 2008-2019 with no issues. Are they not reliable any more?

Would be a stretch. Good ones with less than 40k miles are still upper 20s low 30s

I wouldn't sweat the extra mileage, its a huge depreciation savings. This is a nice example.

I bought an ozone machine off Amazon. Run it several times and it will help.

I bought a vehicle at a dramatically reduced price because of smoke.

Deep clean everything, carpet, seats, header, seatbelts.
Change the cabin filter
Run the ozone with everything open, seat belts out, etc.

Just keep at it. I think you'll still smell it from time to time on very hot days, but I think you'll get ahead of it.

Yeah that’s probably the best word to describe it. Stale. But it’s only when the a/c is running

Ozone treatments, a unused bar of Irish Spring soap under the seat, and change all cabin or air filters related to the cab.

Get a cat and some cat food/water. Place all in the vehicle overnight.

The cat piss smell will 100% cover up the slight smoke smell.

Another reason why smoking weed is superior to smoking cigarettes. The weed may smell initially, but it never sticks to the inside of a vehicle. Can always get weed smell out. Cigarette smell is forever.

Your friends aren't being honest with you.
Weed smell is the worst, and I disagree... I can tell instantly, but I don't smoke it so it's more obvious to me. I don't think it goes away like you think.

Vomit inside it.

Youll only smell vomit after that.

Get the vents cleaned out.
Leave the windows down as often as you can when you park.

Its hard, but get a few boxes of baking soda, take one and pour it throughout the vehicle, let it sit for about an hour and then vacuum it out and the other boxes, just open them and put them in different parts of the vehicle and let them sit there overnight.

Then get some of those sheets you put in the washer with your clothes and put them in different parts, steering wheel, in the glove compartment, on the seats, etc and rub one on the top part around the window where the smoke goes up when when someone is smoking in the driver and passenger seats. Then get car spray, spray it throughout the vehicle and then leave all the doors open and let it air out for awhile.

You need something like baking soda and the dryer sheets that will suck up the smell.

Bought a used Acura that had smoke smell. Shampooed the crap out of the carpets and loaded it with air fresheners and left the windows down for a couple days. Eventually it went away. When it got real hot and humid though, you could still smell a faint smell. Nasty cigs
