My wife has been cutting hair for over 12 years and now has her own salon. Believe me, if the girl has any sense, she will be happy and grateful to know an old client wants to find her.

It isn't creepy at all. You know this person and have a good reason to message. You're not just saying 'Hey' to a stranger.

Is her name Megyn? The exact same thing just happened to me and the new girl that cut my hair fricked it all up

If she wanted to keep you as a client, you would have her phone number.

That's my opinion.

As long as you put "hope this isn't creepy" or "not trying to be creepy" somewhere in the message you're good

This is true.

ELT.. Be honest, is the message I suggested creepy? It tells her who he is and that he recently learned she no longer works there and that he would really like to continue going to her, if she is still cutting hair, because she cuts his hair the way he likes it.. And if she doesn't maybe she can suggest someone that he can give a try, who might be able to cut it the way he likes.

It's not like he is being awkward about it or trying so hard to not sound creepy that it actually comes off as creepy, etc.

Pretty sure you're in the minority on this one. Scheduling a haircut is up there with a manicure as far as fancy boy-ness goes.

I don't think it's creepy. I was just agreeing that a lot of chicks like to use those kinds of messages to write a post about how "creepy" it is; it makes them feel like they look more desirable than they are.

She worked at a salon (Floyds 99) that most guys in Dallas goes to. There are about 20 people cutting hair at any given time there. She gave me her card so I remember her name. I knew to call the salon when I needed to schedule her. Not really the right reason to have her personal number, and if I were to ask for it... then that would be creepy. I agree with you though if this was a smaller place of business.

So you suggest I just show up whenever I feel like it and hope the lady that cuts my hair is just there ready for me and isn't booked up with appointments already? Have to make an appointment at a busy place like that if you want a certain hair stylist.

I gotcha

I was just asking since a few people were saying it was creepy, I was just curious what would be creepy about that, but I understand what you are saying. It doesn't matter how "not-creepy" the message is, depending on the person. They could use it as an opportunity to boost their ego or whatever...

yup. my wife has fiercely loyal former clients and has a studio in our house now and pretty much still cuts their hair on a regular basis.
