But to answer your question, no. But I do feel bad for the poor folks. I can weather this dumb shite. Some poor kid from North BR doing their best is having a real hard time right now

I would feel bad but that poor kid’s mom is wasting that EBT on garbage food and using any cash she can get for herself.

Y’all don’t realize how many people are on food stamps (EBT). I’m not saying we can stop it because the kids are the only ones that will suffer. Inflation does not affect them.

Every low level job cannot hire fast enough because why work when you can make as much watching daytime tv and getting diabetes? Along with that EBT they are getting “free” healthcare.

And to whoever said this is short term…you are a fool. We are driving full speed into another full recession.

You’re way too stupid to have the right to vote. Even if I normally am able to save/invest 7k per month, having 500 less now to invest, and my dollars invested being worth less is definitely affecting me. Just because I haven’t had to make major lifestyle changes doesn’t means I’m not affected.

Exactly. Republicans seem to be bitching for the sake of bitching. Nobody has really changed their decision making at this point.

Thanks for that analysis, Simple Jack.

Here's the problem, with everything inflating and salaries not, people are saving less and less money, having less and less to spend. Eventually that will ripple throughout economy.

I can already see people drive less. That alone will have an effect.

When I see my 401(k) tanking, and realizing that the thought of retiring at 50 is slipping away, yeah, we don't travel up the coast as much, eat at home, etc. You say you doubt it because you are a complete dumbass.

I love paying 50% more for food and 300% more for gasoline so that liberal scum can enjoy a transgender military.

It affects the entire economy of the country, so just because you make 125k and $4 gas doesn't bother you much doesn't mean it can't spiral the country into recession and get you laid off.

Amen brother.

This out of control inflation and materials pricing will eventually turn viable projects into non-viable ones.

I'm in the industrial field and I can assure you when projects get cancelled, people (yes, even good ones) get laid off.

The materials markets are going crazy. Had a vendor from a heat exchanger fab shop tell me they can no longer place orders for steel from the mills with a firm price. All orders subject to pricing at time of shipment. Essentially, all quotes are budgetary.

And it's damn sure not all because of Russia/Ukraine, that's just the icing on the cake.

fify. I know damn near every new, first time homebuyer, single millennial has to be feeling it. I guess non home buyers too being that more adults are living with their parents than in the past 5+ decades and rent is higher than ever before. Sure it has to have a lot of them rethinking their votes. Ive noticed my grocery and gas receipts are up way more than 7.5% than 2 years ago. More like 25%.

Sure I have. I actually think about how much a few things cost before I buy them now.

Seriously, though, it may impact my retirement age. And it may not.

The issue began well before 2009 if you want to be honest with yourself. 2008 was the tipping point and had been written about well prior but cast off as nonsense (because of politics and wall st)

Anyone who says it's not affecting them is lying.

This is the worst inflation in my adult life. Its pathetic. There's nothing positive about it. Government created disaster.
