Or is it trash? Or does it range the gamut from trash to excellent?

What about a sofa bed. Would you buy one of them from Ikea or is that a bad idea?

I would like to hear your Ikea success or failure stories.

Thanks

Mostly junk if they actually send you the item with no missing parts.

If they send you incomplete items, definitely junk.

When you have to send back their defective junk, they'll act like they are doing you a favor not charging you for the return shipment.

Just about everything furniture wise these days that doesnt cost a fortune is cheaply made and will break.

Big reason that I'm building a farmhouse style table, coffee table, e center, and endtables.

shite will never break and be super sturdy.

been my experience with furniture, you get what you pay for.
I have heard estate sales have some great stuff relatively cheap.

How many tables, coffee tables and end tables have you broken?

I've gone to Ikea for some linens, dishes, etc. But the assembly required for their furniture negated the costs-savings there, imo. Plus, the shite comes condensed in giant heavy, flat boxes, and they charge a fee if you need help getting it off the shelf and into the parking lot.

My sister's kitchen table was about 1000 dollars and is already falling apart.

Pretty much everything is made to break these days.

Companies figured out if they sell crap you'll just buy more when it breaks.

I worked at a furniture warehouse years ago. All the expensive shite that looks carved and intricate?

Polyurethane foam rubber, particle board, 1/4 inch veneer, etc.

You’d do better building your own

It’s decent if you’re looking for cheap disposable shite. I still have my ikea furniture from college 4 years later.

It's meh. It's better than Walmart/target.

Personally don't like most of their styles, but I have a few shelving units from them which is okay. I mostly like Ikea for the organizer and other small things, but usually not worth the the trip.

I’ve found that it will last 3-5 years If you build it and leave it where you build it.

I’ve never had a piece of IKEA furniture survive a move.
