In general yes but ATL has lots of prettier stately upper middle class suburbs with character, trees, etc.

You can easily tell that’s in the hood somewhere.

Spring-Cypress-Tomball area has more pines and doesn’t look dead in the winter unlike Atlanta

Houston has a ton of hoodrats, moreso than New Orleans (population; not per capita). Unlike New Orleans and ATL, Houston is huge so you can easily avoid them and not have to deal with ghetto ratchetness.

You don't understand how this works. Those homes are being propped up by the 'good schools'. Those schools are getting worse and worse compared to where they were years ago. The demographics for Cobb are changing rapidly. The school board is just about full on woke now. Their decisions will also impact these same schools. They won't be making 'good' decisions I can assure you. Anyone who lived in Gwinnett 20 years ago knows exactly what is going to happen to Cobb. It's inevitable and unavoidable.
This is ignorant. You might know something about Gwinnett, but you clearly don't know anything about East Cobb or Walton High School.

You can do the same in ATLANTA Alpharetta, Cummings, John's Creek, East Cobb, Sandy Springs, Buford, and Roswell all are great places to hangout. Hell, downtown Alpharetta looks like you walked into Mayberry

I’ve lived in ATL and spent time in Houston. ATL is great if you live out in the burbs and don’t have to deal with traffic inside the loop. Houston is fun and it’s closer to LSU games but overall it was pretty lame compared to ATL. I moved to DFW and it puts both cities to shame. It gets hot in the summer but traffic is less and there is more to do here than either ATL or Houston. Plus you don’t have all the libs that moved to GA to deal with.

What a ridiculous comeback. Those areas mostly have homes that are close together. Atlanta's middle class suburbs have homes with space, hills, privacy, and basements.

We’re talking about Houston, not the master planned communities on the periphery

Add TheWoodlands and Kingwood to that list as well.

Really the only suburbs that lack trees are the newest developments located on the west to south sides (from Katy to Pearland).

Quit moving the goal post. If Coca Cola and hills are the only two things that can get you off then continue sucking off Atlanta. Most US major cities are flat because cities care more about logistics and location then fricking hills. I don’t want to hear you praise any other major cities that aren’t San Francisco and Seattle where it’s normal to have neighborhoods in the hills and not just flat valleys.

Really? Walton high school better 20 years ago or now? Better 10 years ago or now? Have you even looked at the Cobb School Board now? Those are the people who have the fate of schools like Walton in their hands. Have you seen the dumb stuff they are already doing? East Cobb is headed to a slow downward spiral just like what has happened to the rest of Cobb. The parallels between what happened to Gwinnett County and their schools and what is currently happening to Cobb schools is sobering. It's coming and there isn't a thing you could do about it. Cobb is 10 years behind Gwinnett and that future is disastrous for property values, schools, and just about everything else. I would get out while you still can.

Atlanta is sited where it is because it was a great place to terminate a railroad.

Yeah but most of your larger mega cities are going to be boring geography wise unless they are in large valleys like Los Angeles and Rio De Janeiro.

Now if you want to say I don’t like Houston because it doesn’t offer a decent day trip to somewhere scenic then I get it. However, don’t tell me I hate Houston because it’s flat then I see your dumb arse repping Chicago, Dallas, Florida, Philadelphia, DC, NYC because these cities are just as flat as Houston. Hell, Denver is flat af but gets saved by the Rockies next to it.

Houston isn't as pretty as North Atlanta, but is a much better food city, doesn't have as large of a ghetto, is closer to the coast and has the convenience of two airports. Atlanta has more natural attractions and is safe from hurricanes.

Ok - well “original” Heights is several blocks east of Shepherd

The original Houston Heights was Heights Blvd on the west, Studewood on the east, started at I10 on the south (there were no freeways then but that was the roughly bottom, and went north to 20th. All other areas that claim the Heights came later.
