Zero chance they are shutting all the way down. Maybe some areas, but not all the way.

What do they make there? Must be non-essential.

They have a huge acid tank that leaked during the floods because of neglect, and caused an environmental nightmare. I seriously doubt they would shut everything down and let that tank sit there without somebody checking on it daily.

They had given the operators a 3% pay raise at the beginning of the year and they took that back last month. They are also forcing all full time employees to take one week of unpaid vacation. Most of the contractors have been let go.

Yes it was, you can also clearly see where the water level was on that chain link fence because it ate the galvanize coating right off. I don’t remember them ever specifying what type of acid leaked but I do know they use a lot of HF in that plant and that’s some really bad shite.

Side note....I was sitting at the red light at HWY 30 & 3115 one afternoon and there was a 4-5 foot gator just chilling in that ditch, it was about 20ft from a USES boat that was taking water samples.

I assume that gator either died or mutated, not sure which

It wasn’t HF that leaked out several years ago. It was 2 lower grade acids used in the production that got out.
And no, they are not shutting all the way down. Most units are still running. However, they are furloughing most people in day positions, as well as cancelling all approved raises for the year.

This part isn’t true.

Wrong in so many ways. Admin, and salaried are on a 1wk on/off schedule, and all of us expendables keep working as normal.

We have more contractors in the plant than usual. While mangy/admin are safe at home, the rest of us along with tons of contractors are still working. Honeywell is a shite fricked up, screw the worker company!!
