Is Golden Corral and other buffets done?

I haven't seen a buffet open since March 2020. Is this business model over forever?

El Magey in BR is open and quite delicious.

The one on Millerville is open. Packed too.

They exist in other states

Everything is cyclical. I’m sure at some point they will be back.

Right before the mashed potatoes and gravy will be a covid19 vaccine bowl. Get that one first.

Buffets are gross, and were well before COVID.

Anybody that went to somewhere like Golden Corral before COVID will likely not be too concerned with going back. As soon as they open they will be lined up at the feeding troughs like usual.

I was at Zaxby's a few days ago and noticed this, too.

We've been to both recently. The Mag(El Magey) just makes you wear disposable gloves when you approach the buffet. And that place shouldn't be lumped in with regular buffets. It's closer to Texas De Brazil than Golden Corral. Not really but it's LEGIT fricking food. I make two heaping bowls of steak fajita salad that's on par with cheaper mexican restaurants like a La Carreta, El Paso, Casa Maria any day.
But GC is doing okay. They serve you on your plate. You walk down and say "I want dat!" and they put it on your plate so you don't touch serving utensils.

The type of people who frequent Golden Corral are not concerned with Covid. They will be fine.

Then she loves buffet's, just the higher end ones. Sounds like my wife. She'll go to Texas de Brazil, but not Golden Corral.

I'm in KY and they are still shut down, not that I would ever go to one!

I will absolutely admit that a good Indian buffet is something I really enjoy.

The one in Lake Charles opened up like a month or so before Laura then Laura ripped the front walls off of it. I’m still not sure if they opened back up yet.
