Is Easter a pagan holiday?

The name in northern European countries, and symbols like eggs and bunnies, are pagan in origin.
The name in many places (Pascha) is more in line with the actual meaning of the holiday and its Jewish roots.

The easter bunny is pagan in origin. Not really sure why the Church keep going with that but it isn't a pagan holiday interns if Jesus. It's like Christmas was a pagan holiday that Christians used to worship God. Same thing

Most ancient Saints are based on old pagan gods and their rituals. It was a way for Catholicism to spread without upsetting the apple cart.

Almost all holidays are co-opted from earlier pagan roots. That's how religion spreads, by combining elements. Much easier to get people to go along with your new religion if you don't shite all over their holidays.

Ishtar was a fertility ritual held in the spring. Christianity used pagan festivals for its own major holidays. This made pagans more willing to convert.
Christmas was set in December which is extremely unlikely ad the correct date. Jesus rose from the dead during Passover so a spring date for the Resurrection is justified.

Yeah, they try to tie it to the fertility goddess named Ishtar (sounds like Easter.) The eggs and rapidly producing bunnies are symbols of fertility. Christianity holds Easter as it's most celebrated holiday. A celebration of the passover and resurrection. Rebirth and Spring are referenced.

I've got a friend that works out of town. Big time atheist. Literally have had dozens of conversations with him about religion etc.
He posted on Facebook the other day that he was pissed that he wouldn't be home for Easter to celebrate with his girlfriend and son. He does the same thing for Christmas.
He doesn't have the chest to go all in and cut these Christian holidays out of his life.
