Is Dorian bringing a dry heat wave?

7 of the next 9 days will feature highs 95+ in B’ham. Four of those days will be 98.

For you Louisiana folk, NOLA will have 95+ degree temps for the next five days. Temps in South Louisiana are usually around 90 with high heat indexes due to humidity.

I thought it was fall and football season. God damnit.

Possibly, I am seeing forecasted highs above 100 for the next four days.

Sort of....every hurricane that passes the east side of FL sucks all the moisture out of the south; happens every time.

LoL how we were forecast a "cool" period of overnight lows in the 60s.
Never trust a forecast outside of 2 days, for snow, never trust a forecast outside of 2 hours.

I trust forecasts of a Max 5 days. And after 3 days I'm skeptical. I think after 5 they just find the averages for the time of year and predict that. I've noticed if it's been real dry they will always call for rain about 6 days away. Then they just keep pushing the rain back until some actually comes.

You thought wrong. Nearly a month of summer left.

For the last five years, September has been , without a doubt, the hottest month of the year.

I can’t remember the last time I had to wear any type of jacket to an LSU game because it was chilly or cold.

I have to chuckle at some sites that have 45 or 90 day forecasts.

I would love to see the long term Accu-racy of those forecasts since they (Accuweather) started about 5 or 6 years ago.

Man it's going to be a brutal week. 95,97,98,98,99 for BR according to weather.com. If that's true it will be the hottest 5 days of the year I think.

I've always said these were the two longest, most miserable months of the year. The dog days of summer and then some.

Yup. Storm is sucking most of the moisture out (or keeping it from building in), and also because it is to the east, the south is getting sinking air, which heats from compression.

So would I. For a while I've been wanting to start a weather site that just tracks the forecasts of a lot of other sites, records the changes as dates approach, and just kind of figure out how far out they actually become accurate.

Heck, as of Sunday, in Memphis, it was supposed to be in the mid 80s after Wednesday. Not sure what changed, but now it's mid 80s on Thursday and back to the mid 90s for the next 5 days after that. I think they were trying to give us false hope.

In South Louisiana if you trust a forecast you won't ever leave the house. So many times it is greater than 50% chance of rain and never rains.
