Guy’s name was Bob Cade. He died a while ago. Probably around 10 years ago.

Can't kill the fight of a cur dog.

He did motivational stuff at my high school when I played ball years ago. He was interesting to say the least.

We just got his speech and letters before the games the following season. This was before he developed into an icon at CHS. Ironically, we lost the game where he gave his original speech.

Damn Ted, didn’t know we were Cur Dog brothers! Did you go to Pearl or Madison County? Idk if there is an Alabama school that represents the line.

We got visits, his tapes, shirts. I had no clue then he went to other schools too. He was an interesting fellow.

That was more of a Dale Weiner thing. There’s a new (and much better) sheriff in town now.

Whats the background story on this? I remember seeing the signs and stuff when we played Catholic. a random dude would send motivational stuff to random schools? I always thought it was just a defense motivation thing like black shirts, or Chinese bandits.

And the Cur Dog mindset is still an essential part of the program under Gabe.

I saw a truck with that sticker on the back on Kleinert the other day.
It had pilied a power pole. Snapped it right in half and sent a big decorative boulder about 10 feet.
Dude had to have Made that 90 degree curve at 45mph

He was a christian motivational speaker that former CHS coach, Dale Weiner, bought into and used for his program. I recall him coming speak to us a few times before games and I think I remember having to tap a sign with a "Cur Dog" sticker on it either getting on or off the bus to go to game (similar to LSU's "win" bar or the famous Notre Dame sign)
High School me thought it was kind of cheesy. There was this 50 or so year old guy ranting and raving, while dressed in ratty gym shorts and and "Cur Dog" half-tee sleeveless shirt. But many of my teammates bought in, so it wasn't a bad thing. Ultimately, he seems like a good guy who did a lot of good for people

On the line! Guts and God, Cur Dog style.
What's the difference between a ham sandwich and an egg sandwich?

Isn't a Cur dog kind of an mutt dog that had to fight for everything he gets, has nothing given to him....kind of ironic that CHS adopted that as their motivational model?
