The owner is old af. He's not investing any more $ in it. He's going to operate as long as he can until all the slides are no longer operational, and then sell it all.

The word from this board is that they can't find enough certified lifeguards to cover all the shifts, therefore, have not opened for the season.
Yet, another casualty of the millennial work strike
Millennials are currently between the ages of 26 and 42. But sure, we're the reason the a-hole known for underpaying staff can't hire certified lifeguards

what year did it open? late '80s? I can remember my mom taking me and few friends the first summer it was open. That was the only time I ever went, but it was the best day of that summer by far.

They're definitely having staffing issues. I brought my son one day late last summer. Dixie Landing wasn't open at all, and only half the water slides were open because they didn't have enough employees to run them all.

Per their FB page, they are temporarily closed.
Good. I hope that, by "temporary", they mean "forever".

Use to love making out with chicks in the lazy river. Always brought my coke can for $5 off (no big deal).

Apparently the rides from Dixie Landing have been up for sale since last year.
They've looked overgrown and deserted for years haha

Ive read a lot of comments in various places that the owner pays them like $2 an hour with the promise of a large bonus if they stay the whole season but them terminates them before its over
Damned kids and their unreasonable expectation to be paid something that so much as resembles a reasonable hourly wage…

It was $3.85/hr nearly 20 years ago.

Or finds any excuse to not fulfill the promise. You miss a few days for family vacation...you don't get the bonus.

Ungrateful millennial shits. $2 an hour is all they're worth.
