no one is saying you're the same.

and it depends, when you walk into a bar to hit on the girl:

do you take no for an answer?
try to persuade her why she should give you a chance?
use your size, power, money to try to win/manipulate her?
make her feel bad for saying no?
touch her in an unwanted way?
leave when she makes her disinterest clear?
respond aggressively when she says no, "aka call her a bitch, unfriendly, etc?"
think that you deserve to talk to her in any way?

all of these things... added up start leading down the path to harassment. if they happened to you every day or multiple times a day, you could see where they come from the same place...

the idea is that some men mistakenly think they have a right to sex from a woman. when they don't. everything else is just differing degrees on what they do to try to obtain that.

sexual assault and rape is a 10 on that scale. but all the above behaviors are clearly on it.

and that includes catcalling, which is probably a 1. the idea is that the men are treating women as an object of sexuality. and women should have the right to not participate, but are forced to participate and intruded upon.

So here's the deal. A number of these gals are bitching that a guy dared to compliment them on their looks....at dinner...or in a restaurant.

fricking attention whores.

There is actual sexual harassment in the work place going on every day. Of that I have no doubt.

But telling a girl her hair looks nice is not in any fricking way sexual harassment.

These are the same dumb bitches who complain there aren't any nice guys to date.

I completely agree with you in that way. There's going to be a group of people that use the campaign and the rape laws to their advantage. Whether it's to get attention, revenge, etc. And a passing comment really isn't that big of a deal.

But at the end of the day, I can ride a public bus without being approached by a woman looking to tell me how nice my bulge looks. And can walk down the street without women hanging out the windows whistling and yelling 'nice arse'. I don't have to deal with a constant barrage of 40 year old hard-dicks feeling the need to bother me. I can certainly see where that would get real old, real quick.
