The main opposition to this for DECADES has been from what we used to call “ liberal “ and now call Progressive black activists . In particular black social worker organizations that have formally opposed black children being adopted by white families. To the extent that they actually favor black foster homes or orphanages to allowing a black kid to live with a white family. When you go down the rabbit hole of Racial Identity Politics you care about the ideology and not the kids. The only thing kids need is loving parents- that’s it. Race is irrelevant.

No, you're a POS. frick you.

I have cousins from China, Paraguay, and India and they're all amazing people.

And nobody believes you know any of the people or hear any of the things you claim to. It's fricking pathetic that you lie about these stupid situations you imagine up to justify posting you're awful threads that everybody hates anyway

with all the anti-abortion laws coming into effect now, the number of adoptable babies should rise, thus increasing inventory and choices of the to be parents.

Except they won't be coming into effect just yet. Not while Roe v Wade is still upheld. One of these bills will have to be challenged and taken to the Supreme Court, and in the event that it was overturned, which is still a HUGE if, that will take a good while. So none of these laws will be taking effect anytime soon

I “know” a white person who adopted a baby from Africa and returned it not too long after. I’m against that

I know some very generous people that adopted 3 kids from Africa and returned them. The kids started asking them to send money back to the parents repeatedly and asking when they were going back.

After a couple of months they found out the kids had been coached to try and get money back to their parents and then come back to Africa. After they figured out that was not going to be the case they became indignant and destructive.

Broke their hearts.

no problem with it. There were 2 kids in need, and a set of parents stepped up. Anyone having a problem with this has a problem.

A white couple that I know adopted a black kid who clearly isn't their biological child. They get all kinds of looks and questions from black people when they are in public.

Not really, just be ready to be judged the first time walking through the store with your wife and baby that doesn't match the dads pigment level. The husband will be perceived as a cuck and the wife a ho bag that cheated and got prego. It is what it is, ppl who dont know will look and assume the worst.

I know some folks are are going through the adoption process and they are on the fence about adopting a baby of a different race because of the area they live in and the negative attention it would put

In a world of almost 7 billion people, I would suspect you could find someone that would be against it.

White liberals think white people adopting black babies is a huge no-no.

The ignorance is on display in this thread.

The issue here is that a white couple adopting a black child can’t just ignore the fact that the child is black. You have to make real black friends which you have regular interactions with so that the child doesn’t look in the mirror and feel out of place.

Too many white families who adopt black kids try to ignore the difference in appearance. The child notices. If a mixed race environment isn’t present around the home the child can develop a feeling of real isolation. This is supported by solid research.

So if you aren’t willing to make the effort it takes to make the child feel completely included, don’t do it.
