I guess I can kind of understand a couple adding strictly sexual partners. I wouldn't want that in my relationship at all and would bounce, but I get it.

Sex can be just sex. If they are just having fun, I understand swinging and all that.

I do not at ALL understand them having other "relationships", like an actual boyfriend or something.

this is more pushing of "cuckoldry" as normal by the left.

They are owned by 3rd wave feminism and 3rd wave feminism recently has decided that they like the idea of cuckoldry...so you will see it pushed more and more.

It's all pretty much spelled out.
quote:

Two very prominent Marxists thinkers of the day were Antonio Gramsci and Georg Lukács. Each man, on his own, concluded that the working class of Europe had been blinded by the success of Western democracy and capitalism. They reasoned that until both had been destroyed, a communist revolution was not possible.
quote:

In 1918, Lukács became minister of culture in Bolshevik Hungary. During this time, Lukács realized that if the family unit and sexual morals were eroded, society could be broken down.
quote:

Lukács implemented a policy he titled “cultural terrorism,” which focused on these two objectives. A major part of the policy was to target children’s minds through lectures that encouraged them to deride and reject Christian ethics.
quote:

In classical Marxism, the workers of the world were oppressed by the ruling classes. The new theory was that everyone in society was psychologically oppressed by the institutions of Western culture. The school concluded that this new focus would need new vanguards to spur the change. The workers were not able to rise up on their own.
Notice how they change their selling lines when the plan fails, yet in each instance, whatever bullshite they're feeding people is presented as some kind of fundamental truth - until they're forced to change the formula.
quote:

Next was a book Theodor Adorno co-authored, The Authoritarian Personality. It redefined traditional American views on gender roles and sexual mores as “prejudice.” Adorno compared them to the traditions that led to the rise of fascism in Europe.
quote:

Their works split society into two main groups: the oppressors and the victims. They argued that history and reality were shaped by those groups who controlled traditional institutions. At the time, that was code for males of European descent.

From there, they argued that the social roles of men and women were due to gender differences defined by the “oppressors.” In other words, gender did not exist in reality but was merely a “social construct.”

Sound familiar? And this was almost 100 years ago.

It's not "liberalism" or "SJW." It's Marxism.

I love how they portray it as this mutual decision when she just straight told him she was going to some strange.

Then later it says he sized the guy up and decided "he wasn't a threat." Bull fricking shite, he apparently is a threat or more than that.

• So, in the end the guy wants to open up his marriage, but his wife is the only one experimenting with a new partner.

• The wife must realize she made a bad marital decision as clearly no one else wanted her wimpy husband.

• The husband couldn't find another partner, yet his Parkinson's riddled wife finds a boyfriend at a Parkinson's support group.

• Husband is a huge loser.

• I have come to learn that our neighborhood (before we moved in) was a swingers paradise about ten (10) years ago. The end result was a bunch of divorces, houses for sale and busted families.

Rifle is probably thinking of "Marxist" as a purely political/economic construct, which is not the only incarnation, or that's not the only way to look at it (and not the only way it wants to be used either).

No I'm thinking about this in this construct:

NYTimes is lagging WSJ.
Editor yells in the bullpen: "Get me a fricking great article"
Writer thinks..."what sells??". Lightbulb goes off: "sex sells"
Writer is probably having an affair herself but calls it an "open marriage". Only open in her mind.
Writes an article about it.
We click link. Gets more page views. They sell more ads.
Finished.

Open marriage is one of the perfect topics for shite like this.

As you said sex sells. Conservatives like to tut tut about the topic (see the people who keep droning about Marxism over a fluff piece). Liberals like to read about "feminism." Unsatisfied spouses like to dream. Poly people think it validates them. So forth and so on.

It's a topic that everyone either loves or hates which drives page views.

Nah it's perfect. She gets to keep homeboy around for the extra income and emotional support. He may not want any other partners but she is getting something out of him.

2017, when men aren't men anymore.

No, most men are still men. They just don't spend their valuable time writing (much less reading) nonsense like this

That's why media direction today, (social media too) is determined by woman or gay, effeminate men

Just stop associating with people that read and want to discuss this type of nonsense. Avoid them, at all costs

Doesn't matter if its open or monogamous. If you want a happier marriage you tell your potential spouse everything. Give it all up. Let them know all your worst bullshite. If they still want to stick around your marriage will be great. If not, well, odds are you would have had to lie to them for many other things and it would fall apart at some point anyway.

Problems arise as we age and have differing hormonal changes. The once horny wife can become less horny after a few kids and subsequent hormonal fluctuations. Men can get ED and lose their sex drive. There are a lot of reasons why many couples go to counseling and one of the main reasons is some sort of sexual “problem”.

I have a friend who just divorced wife number two after having two open marriages. Sure, it's "happy" for a short time because lets face it, sex is awesome. But I've never heard of an open marriage not ending in serious acrimony as a direct result of it's own policy.
