A chiropractor actually cured my cousins fibromyalgia when like a dozen "medical" doctors couldn't figure it out

There are a few chiropractors out there who are also MDs, but they are few and far between. I'd only go to one who was also an MD.

Chiros are good for some very specific things. The issue is they will tell you that if you come see them 2-3 x’s A week for the rest of your life you will never get sick again. I know some that will adjust a new born baby and tell the parents they will never need any vaccinations as long as they get life Long adjustments.

That’s where the quack comes in

THe best explanation I've seen for the function of chriropractic care within the scope if physialogical care is that a "straight" chiropractor will typically get the result in one session that a masseuse will in several.

The issue often is that it is difficult to find a chiropractor who isn't also trying to sell you suppliments, juicing, orthotics, etc. and possibly stringing out your sessions to maximize your insurance hit.

I would addamantly refuse kneck manipulation, as well. Actually, I just don't go to chiropractors.

Not real doctors, but apparently they work. My kid was in an accident (woman ran a red light and t-boned him) last year and has had back trouble ever since. He goes to a chiro weekly, and it helps a lot. Wife goes for a weekly massage as well, because she’s spoiled, white-privileged, and her insurance pays for it. I wish I had tried it before having neck surgery.

Chiropractors cannot prescribe medications and I have never met one who believed in taking medications.

I agree that legitimacy has improved and that there are many situations in which chiropractic is beneficial. My main concern is with those who don't know their limitations and when to refer for medical treatment.

They are not MD’s.

But when I was playing golf 3-4 times a week, I went to see one every other week. He mostly adjusted my hips and lower back. I always felt a million times better after seeing him.

I'm seeing one for Achilles tendonitis. Does ART, dry needling, suction cupping, etc. Wouldn't see one for a serious injury, but it's helping. Not a lot different than a physical therapist in this particular capacity (seen them as well for the same issue before)

But there are different types out there. One I see specifically works with sports injuries. Others are ambulance chasers. Some think they can cure aids by cracking your back.

Would probably be better off going to physical therapy. My uncles a Chiro and he has no idea how the human body functions. Like basic shite. Add that to the fact that he claims to have cured diabetes and cancer on occasion, I would approach with marked reservations. I've seen them help people and I have seen that make people worse.

If you saw the pain someone with fibromyalgia suffers with youd realize it's not an imaginary disease

It's the abusers that ruin them for the people that have to take them to live a normal life. Before the chiro adjusted his chi, my cousins fibromyalgia was so bad that without his medicine he'd be sore all over, feel nauseated, have vomiting and diarrhea, cold sweats, almost like the flu. Luckily the chiro is working on curing him and he has to take less and less medicine for the disease

Chiro adjust your bones, Massage therapist( good ones) work on muscles. A Physical Therapist will tell you that if you do not strenghthen the muscles that hold the spine in place- alignment just goes back to where it was

Kind of like aligning the front end on your truck but not tightening down the nuts and hardware after you have it aligned.

Find a good PT or a legitimate massage therapist.
