Very circumstantial.
Did the mom just vanish to run off with a new boyfriend leaving no way to pay bills or for the 15 year old to obtain food? Then yes, obv
Did the mom have a short planned business trip and leave the bills on autopay, food in the fridge, numbers for the teenager to call in case of emergency and a responsible adult around to check in/for the teen to call if something bad happens? Then no.

I think I was about 16 the first time my parents left me alone in the house - they came back early and my friend and his gf were in the bathroom taking a shower together - talk about an awkward moment.

My parents would go up to our camp for the weekend and leave me alone. Around 8th/9th grade. They didn't have a landline at our camp and that was way before cell phones. That was also back when we'd leave the front door of the house unlocked 24/7.

Probably not. At 16 I had a job, a truck, and after school sports. My parents were going through a divorce and my dad moved out of state for a job and my mom fell into depression. I was basically on my own other than having a house provided. It was probably good for me to be forced to be responsible.

No it’s fine, I was left alone for a week when I was 15 my mom had planned a vacation to Florida that summer to visit my grandpa, but at the last minute she found out I had to go to summer school, so she took my sister’s and left me at home, my dad was supposed to come stay with me but he just stopped by and gave me some money, I was fine, till a few weeks later when we’re sitting in the backyard and my mom noticed a beer cap in the grass (I think it was a fricking zima too hahaha ) she realized maybe my dad didn’t stay with me

Depends on maturity of 15 year old
Which in turn depends on how the parent matured said 15 year old.
At 15, I had my own drivers license, car, and part time job. Leaving me to fend for myself was not a thing, but then if you pamper a child and never give them any responsibilities, you will have a child who’s maturity has been stunted.
It’s the parent that’s the problem or the solution. Always has been
