I got 153 on an article abstract, but 123 on just a general email I send.
Yeah it's interesting because I do a fair share of research in NLP and various applied text mining and so fundamentally I understand the "logic" of this type of system. There are a variety of ways to build something like this, I am probably though more curious of how they "trained" the system.
Given how quickly it provides a result for the sample I am curious of the method they use for the underpinnings of the bins or values. Regardless this is just another interesting application of trying to quantify text into a static value.

This was from an email that was fairly casual. I could not get it to work on more formal letters.

That’s seems accurate based on the poliboard.

I'd cordially like to invite you to a gathering I will be having later tonight. The attendee list consists of yourself and I. During this party, we will partake of the popular streaming platform "Netflix" and then experience a cooling off period during that. If the aforementioned "Netflix" asks "Are you still watching," we will most likely ignore it or be unable to hear the request due to your father's daughter being preoccupied in a prone position unable to speak or see the request.

made that up on the fly. what do i win?
i did put some work emails in there and they vary from 80-115.
i probably get dinged because most of my customer base is in Texas and I have a fair amount of "y'alls" as well as being in technology so there's a lot of acronyms.

"Not enough variance..." WTF does that mean?

Great lulz. I copied in various emails and posts I have written, resulting in scores from 88-145.

It appears that the program just gauges vocabulary variance more than anything and assesses a syllable count average per word. It is not necessarily difficult to get an inflated number once you figure out how the algorithm functions.

One of the interesting side effects of the Covid-19 pandemic was the transformation of the work dynamic in our society. Employers were forced to social distance, which for most employers, was a tremendous burden to their company’s productivity. As our society always does, when faced with a challenge, we came up with a solution through technology - allowing employees to work from home using email, text messages, online meetings, etc. These technological advances appeared to save the day - what was once a luxury in rare circumstances proved to be a solution for the masses.
Not an email, but a paragraph from a Substack article.

Sitting behind the wheel of my parent’s Park Avenue, feeling completely invincible at 17 years old, I had so much to lose – another date from my newly found love, my scholarship to LSU, car privileges - you name it, it was on the line. The exact circumstances of my desperate situation had been completed washed from my mind, save for one of my senses. The contents of my stomach, most of which had already overtaken my blood stream, had severely compromised my sight and ability to touch, resulting in very poor hand-eye coordination. Not exactly conducive to navigating the streets of a city laid out to accommodate the many natural characteristics that make her unique. My mind had decided that hearing had not been critical for a successful operation. With sixty percent of my senses malfunctioning, and no desire to eat anything, the remaining sense had been magnified fivefold to reach one hundred percent. The odor inside the vehicle, which I had termed “Eau De Desperation” had been a unique blend - two parts Brut, three parts Chanel No. 5, eight parts fatty acids and proteins, fifteen parts whiskey, and the occasional faint smell of methane. As this toxic mixture circulated through the car, I had realized I had one option – make the deal! To this day, I’m sure the good priests at Jesuit would not have approved, but I had made the special deal, the Catholic get out of jail free card. It had worked!
After grabbing snippets from articles, the highest score was 143.

From Biden's state of the Union Address...
quote:
And to my Republican friends, if we could work together in the last Congress, there’s no reason we can’t work together and find consensus on important things in this Congress as well. (Applause.)
I think — folks, you all are just as informed as I am, but I think the people sent us a clear message: Fighting for the sake of fighting, power for the sake of power, conflict for the sake of conflict gets us nowhere.
That’s always been my vision of our country, and I know it’s many of yours: to restore the soul of this nation; to rebuild the backbone of America, America’s middle class; and to unite the country.
For decades, the middle class has been hollowed out in more than — and not in one administration, but for a long time. Too many good-paying manufacturing jobs moved overseas. Factories closed down. Once-thriving cities and towns that many of you represent became shadows of what they used to be. And along the way, something else we lost: pride, our sense of self-worth.
I ran for President to fundamentally change things. To make sure the economy works for everyone so we can all feel that pride in what we do. To build an economy from the bottom up and the middle out, not from the top down. Because when the middle class does well, the poor have a ladder up and the wealthy still do very well. We all do well. (Applause.)
I know a lot of you always kid me for always quoting my dad. But my dad used to say, “Joey, a job is about a lot more than a paycheck.” He really would say this. It’s about a lot more than a paycheck. It’s about your dignity. It’s about respect. It’s about being able to look your kid in the eye and say, ‘Honey, it’s going to be okay’ and mean it.
