See civil war.
You will find your answer.
At least we have sports and outdoors.

I lived in Colorado for 2 years.
Loved it outside losing someone to a murder. Food not as good as Louisiana at all.
What I find funny is that lots of states may have better ran states but for fun they copy a lot of Louisiana traditional like Mardi Gras and Crawfish festivals.
Where I lived some bloke brought ab alligator back from Louisiana and left it up on the Grand Mesa. He was jailed for a long time.
Imagine how great our state would be with great leadership and government.

Native Iowan here, born and raised. I have lived here my whole life besides 4 years of being in the service. I don't know what these rankings/polls are all about. It seems like they change anually.
I could not be happier to have been brought up here. When you think of the USA, I think Iowa and the upper midwestern states stand out compared to the rest of the country. Working on farms and helping relatives bale hay at a young age creates a great work ethic. Going to a town team baseball game on a quiet summer night is peaceful and serene. A high school diploma/ college education is the expectation growing up. We have fantastic hospitals and mostly generally good people who look out and help out neighbors. A lot of small towns and a few bigger cities with a nice vibe.
Anyone can be biased about where they live. Shoveling snow is not that bad and the unflux of folks moving from chicago and bringing crime with them is a downfall.

Without question.
The best town Ive ever visited is Branson, MO for me personally, but many would disagree and that is an opinion of total subjective measure.
Best state Ive ever been to is also subjective. Colorado was the best for scenery and small population relative to size. I loved feeling like I was in the middle of nowhere when I left town.
Best for entertainment was Cali. So many things to do whether sport, leisure, entertainment (outside sport) tourism, food, etc..
Best for culture is here in my home state Louisiana. Nothing even close to it in the nation in my opinion.
