The 15 from Barstow to Vegas is a lot of nothing and the traffic is horrible on Friday and Sunday.

All of the southern californians heading to Vegas for the weekend, and the return trip on Sunday sucks because there's a straight mountain climb for 15 miles to the stupid CA border ag inspection.

I haven't driven all, but I've driven most of the ones listed. My worst is I-29 from KC to South Dakota. I don't think it has been redone since it was originally laid, and you can't read any of the signs at night because all of the paint or reflectiveness is just gone. There is also nothing to stop at along the way.

I was stationed at Edwards AFB before retiring. I’d usually drive to Vegas to fly home to Louisiana to see my family. The ride up there was like rush hour on Friday and if I came back to Vegas on a Sunday. I remember coming home for Thanksgiving one year and flying back to Vegas on the Sunday after. Took me over five hours to get to my home in Boron.

With the exception of the northernmost 20 or so miles in Georgia, it is an absolute piece of shite! Literally can’t drive in the right lane for much of it.

There is a 4 miles stretch of I-55 south of Blytheville, AR that the contractor didn’t steel or dowel. It’s like driving over a cobblestone road.

YES. I freakin hate driving north out of West Memphis on 55 because of that stretch - it will literally shake my gps and SXM unit off the windshield and rearrange everything in the cab of my truck. It has been like that for years and they still haven't done anything to correct it.

Iowa has completely revamped everything i-29 through their state, including the merge/exits with i80 in Council Bluffs. It's much much much easier to get through town now because they widened it out to 3 lanes and created a separate side road for local exits in that stretch.

Why do people in California refer to interstates as “The” ?

As far as sheer boredom goes, I-95 from Jacksonville to Richmond is bad.

Drive 16 from Savannah to Macon or 10 from Tallahassee to Pensacola. You'll change your mind about boring interstates...

Just about the entire state of New Mexico will put all of the rest of this country to shame. Aside from Albuquerque, there's next to nothing to see or to stop at in the entire state. Very few truck stops, most of the rest areas are abandoned shite holes, it's just pure exhaustion trying to get through there. The worst stretch of interstate in this country is I25 between Albuquerque and Las Cruces. Nothing but desert and NOTHING. Nowhere to stop, no rest areas, nothing.

Its less than 2 years old from Springville to gadsden and both of those sections are currently being replaced. I can tell you've never been to Detroit or the Penn turnpike.

The worst are the turnpike interstates up North that are littered with potholes and fir this privilege, you also get to pay a toll.
IMO, the California interstates are overall the best maintained. The worst in the South is I 20/59 going through Birmingham ( thankfully there is I459 ti avoid that)

Any Interstate that puts you anywhere in Arkansas is in contention for “The Worst”.

That I-85 to I-65 is awful from Atlanta to Mobile. That was my most hated stretch driving to and from VA and Baton Rouge.

Try doing it hopped up on trucker pills
