UCD baw may not be who you think he is. He may be a colleague, sibling, or gay lover of the prof. They may be familiar with his work, therefore they quote it. Having the same initials as the prof may be a coincidence, borrowed, or from a family of Becky, Billy, Ben, Bucky, and Blaire.

Is he a PhD ?In my experience ,anyone’s with Dr. in front of his name,be it PhD,or M.D. don’t take it well when someone disagrees with them.This guy sounds dangerous,though.I would call the FBI.
My wife’s sister is married to this dip shirt with PhD from MIT,thinks he’s brilliant.I don’t know why,he doesn’t have a pot to piss in.Retired with nothing but Social Security.
Anyway he was Obama,Hillary and now Beto supporter,gets irrational at mention of Trump.SIL invited themself to come visit few days in November.I ordered a Trump 2020 cap,I’m going to keep it on whole time they’re here.
