re: Interesting animals you’ve hit with car

I hit this ole baw one night. I decided to bring it home so I strapped him to the top of my station wagon. I tell you what. This baw came to life while on top of my car. Scaried the crap out of me.

I didn’t hit them with a car, but I did accidentally shoot a gaggle of Turkey that had wandered onto the range at Ft. Hood one night while we were doing live tank gunnery. They had the bad luck of moving behind a set of pop-up troop targets I was hosing down with the coax MG. Killed four of them.

2 buzzards eating a skunk in the road. Buzzard 1 flies off immediately. Buzzard 2, not sure if he thought he had more time or underestimated added weight of skunk, but he smashed hood just above where the latch would be. Huge dent.
Did not circle back to see if Buzzard 1 was now eating Buzzard 2.

Me too (black vulture). I was driving down a road with cow pastures on each side. I saw a vulture flying low toward the road. The damn thing never slowed down. It flew over the fence and right into the side of my truck around the front marker light. Killed it stone dead and dented my truck.

owl, rabbit, and a deer. owl all but destroyed my windshield.

I've been driving for 15 years and still haven't hit any animals. Numerous close calls but I'm more than willing to take evasive maneuvers within reason.

A methed out guy on the once dimly lit starring lane near Starring Motel decided it would be a good idea to cross the road on a children's bike as I was passing by. I swerved, but not enough and clipped him. He survived, but the funny part was that he was ticketed for not wearing a helmet as he was being stretchered into the amberlamps.

I hit what I thought was big foot once.



I later found out it was my ex wife. What a coincidence. I know.

I've hit an armadillo and a snake on my mountain bike once. Not quite a car, but that armadillo almost fricked me up.
