Horrible analogy. The right lane wasnt closed to begin with

It is exactly the same inconsiderate action. The lady knew the lane was a dedicated turning lane for the grocery store and used it to pass up a line of vehicles that were at the intersection before her.

Pretty plain and simple unless you're just trying to play that role.

Ah, I was unfamiliar with the zipper method and it’s reasoning too. I’ll keep that in mind for the future. Having said that, bitch should have made eye contact with me so I could give her the nod to let her merge, She must pay her respects. We’re not savages. We live in a society.

It works extremely well in Europe, specifically Germany.

Then again Germany isn't full of oblivious fricktards like the US.

Oh wait I misread this. I didnt know this was a dedicated right turn lane. If it was indeed a right turn only lane I retract my statement.

Zipper method is fine but this particular situation doesn't sound like it calls for the zipper method.

If I'm reading his post correct.

He never said it was a turning lane for the shopping center. If it were, there would be a sign that says right turn only. Instead it says lane ends, which signifies get ready to zipper merge.

This is how i sort of read it. Ive never seen a right turn only lane end with a merge point.

People drive like that all the time. It’s frustrating. Get in line like everyone else. We all have places to be. Upvote for the OP.

It doesn't.

Even if people followed the "rules", it is still slower than everyone getting into a straight line as soon as possible and driving through single file.

I read it as a lane for people leaving the shopping center to merge into the one lane of traffic. And its only about 200 yards long. It's not like this lane existed for awhile and she's been chilling in it only to merge at the last possible point (zipper method). This lady jumped out of the traffic lane just to advance 200 yards and about 20 cars worth of stopped traffic.

That's not using the zipper method, that's being a bitch.

Then again, i may be understanding the intersection layout wrong.

That's exactly what she did. I deal with Exxon workers every day in pickup trucks on Hooper and Wax in Central doing this every damn day.

Allow me to clear up the confusion.

There is a dedicated right turn lane that feeds into multiple entry/exit points for the shopping center. That lane follows the other lane for about .1 miles from the previous light to the one where I was sitting at in the OP. That right turn lane extends past the shopping center, and this light. There are 3 three lanes at this light to choose from when exiting. One for turning left, one for going straight, and the 3rd for right turn only. I believe the lane that eventually ends was created for the purpose of allowing the right turn only lane from getting backed up. And here in lies my grievance. People constantly are using it to zip past the line of cars they will eventually have to merge with. If you’re familiar with the area, you know that lane ends. There’s even a sign if you’re not. And, if you are truly ignorant, well then all apologies if I don’t let you in. I have no problem letting someone over so long as they do something within reason to catch my eye and wait for a signal from me to let them know they can merge, followed by a thank you wave. But, what that lady did happens all the damn time and I felt like coming home and posting about it because the OT is great for after work chill down time.
