Michael Barnett and his now ex-wife, Kristine, were charged last week with two counts of felony neglect of a dependent. On Tuesday, a Tippecanoe County judge issued warrants for them both.

The article says the kid has some sort of dwarfism, and the parents claim the adoption was a sham. They claim she used her dwarfism to pretend to be a child but is really older. That seems like it would be pretty easy to determine.

This is such a bizarre story--it sounds like a damned Law & Order episode.
I read somewhere a few days ago that after being "abandoned," another couple petitioned to become her guardians but the Barnetts filed an objection citing an age issue. The other couple eventually dropped their petition, so I wonder if they were also convinced that the girl is older than she represents herself to be?

If the remake WillyWonka she can cash in as an Oompa Loopa and be fine on her own. No issue to see.
