Replacing a 60" LG in the living room.

Have a budget of $500 plus $90 in best buy gift cards.

Best buy has a LG 55" 4KUHD for $540, and with tax that hits the nail on the head budget wise. However, I hate to downsize from a 60" to a 55".

Looking at other 55"'s, Walmart has a Vizio D Series 55" 4KUHD for $398. Same size and under budget, but to step up to the 60" Vizio E series would put me at $698. Doable at about $100+ tax over budget, but not what I was hoping for.

Those are not my only choices, just kind of where I'm at right now. What would you buy with that budget? Am I on the right trail? Do you know of any great sales going on? I figured after Christmas would be a good time to buy...

$500 is pretty cheap. You'll hate going from 60 to 55.

I can already tell looking at them in the store, but the budget is what it is. The extra $90 in gift cards ties me to best buy, but I think I can save that on the same model TV from another store.

I cruised that section and found a samsung 55" marked down quite a bit to be in my budget, but wasn't too confident about the whole "open box" deal.

I worked for BBY in college.

Any returned item must be marked Open Box.

Honestly, depending on the GM of the store, will let store employees have the literally just the box opened TVs this time of the year due to shite pay.

However I can tell you a lot of TVs come back now and after the Super Bowl in damn near mint condition.

Some might be missing a power cable which are dirt cheap to buy.

The old one wasn't a smart TV, and it was having issues randomly cutting out before it finally died.

Called a few repair places that wanted a diagnostic fee, then labor and parts if it was fixable. Figured I'd rather throw that money at a new one and get a smart TV.

Smart TVs suck in my experience. Fire stick, Google chrome, PS4, etc work so much better.

Walmart. Best buy will be over priced/too rich for your budget.

Get on Google and search tv prices per size.

I had it pretty much figured out using context clues. I just wanted to see if you could actually type out "Best Buy".

The OT has been exceptionally weird today.

I guess it’s the fallout from tRant and Aranda.

Why would it matter if I spelled out Best Buy? Seems like a really odd statement.

bought a beat up 60" vizio 4K with no remote or stand from sams club for $250 (they'll haggle with you on those yellow tags) knowing vizio's white glove treatment.

sure enough, got the tv home, called vizio, emailed them my receipt from sams..3 days later 2 guys delivered a BRAND NEW MODEL (that 60" was outdated) with remote, stand, everything. they hauled the old POS out in the box the new one came in.

yes, cad is cheap but dont hate because i worked the system.
