I only buy the small and cheap propane grills, because even the more expensive ones go to shite after so many years.
You then got to get rid of those big ones, which is a pain in that arse.
I just figure on spending about $200 every three years.

I'm on the pellet train now. I got a cheap pitboss pellet grill and it has exceeded my expectations to what I want in a grill. You really need a cover if you have a pellet grill or the pellets will get soggy and jam.
Outside of that, the only big box propane grill I would get is a Weber. I LOVE the way the charbroil tru infrared cooks, but it's horrible quality that rusts out after like 3 years or less. I was a lump charcoal only guy in a offset chargriller pit guy before life took over. I even got the half and half model and never used charcoal again. I was going to get a Weber if I was going to get a propane grill again. Now, doubt I'll ever get anything but pelletgrills.

This happens ever year at the end of the year at Lowes. A week or two after Christmas. Missed 2 years ago and was able to pick one up this year once they went on clearance again (set myself a SlickDeals alert). $800 weber genesis for $265

Char Broil infrared is the worst...nearly impossible to clean and the grill plates basically last till the warranty ends !

I have a 9 year old Weber genesis too (but mine is natural gas and not propane) and a Weber Smokey mountain. This is the optimal setup. We can do bread, pizzas, etc on the Weber and not heat up the kitchen in summer. We can fire up the grill and do brats and wings and burgers and salmon on cedar etc all year round. And I never have to go to the store to fill propane tanks
