Canceling WFH or Hybrid schedules across the board is just weak leadership too chicken shite to discipline employee who abuse the system. so they screw everyone over.
No other explanation or reason. period.
Zero leadership at all. Just following other leaders.

That’s cool for you.
I left my last job two years ago because upper management wanted everyone back in office FT.
Greater than 50% of the staff left for competitors accounting for at least that same percentage in lost revenue along with the cost to replace the staff (which always costs more).
I get some jobs are absolutely necessary to be in office, but with technology and efficiencies provided, the full time back in office model is a slow dying death.

When did McDonald's employees not have to go into the store?

Eh.. not true at all. Get your butt back in the office where it's supposed to be.

I like how you pretend to be some upper level manager/owner, but you’re obviously an administrative assistant. Go back to typing memos.

I think it's pretty clear he doesn't have any.
His supervisor probably has them in a nice pouch in his desk drawer.

Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt just ordered all state employees back in the office. There’s a Reddit thread and they are all melting down.
“I have disabilities and can’t sit in an office chair all day”
“I sold my car when we went remote and no longer have a way to get to work”
“Anyone against WFH is just jealous “

Crazy world is a bunch of people sitting on an internet message board during regular work hours complaining about other people's productivity.

This is what needs to happen in all jobs outside of IT related positions.

Mid-size company.
We recently went from 2 days a week in the office to 3. (Some staff are in 5 days because their job requires it.)
We've found employees to be more productive at home, but management wants to tout them being in the office "more than 50% of the time".
The only thing that sucks is coordinating schedules and office/cubicle space. They leased too much stuff out and now most people have to share.

I'm glad I don't work for your employer. Sounds like your employers has been experiencing issues with employees being able to manage their productivity on their own so he's forcing everyone to come him so management can keep an eye on the entire staff.
I work from home 90% of the time and I enjoy it. I'm way more productive at home versus going into the office. People are constantly stopping by to small talk throughout the day. I also would have an hour commute to/from work. If I'm ever behind on anything, I can easily use that time to catch up to get things done. At this point in my career, I don't need any hand holding. I know how and what to do. Just let me do my thing and come to the office as needed.

Good luck losing your most elite producers and being stuck with the dregs
Maybe the elite producers should lift up their team members. You know, be a leader. Hard to do in your lay-z-boy from home. Do you ever expect to get into the executive world without knowing how to be a leader and communicate with all types professionally? Just do you job and watch Netflix?
