thugs drink and smoke weed at home

The weed is being smoked within eye sight of LSP in the quarter. What is hurting and killing is the triple or quadruple cut cocaine, fake pharmies, fentanyl, etc. There are some zombies living down there. I could go on but you get it. Nothing causes more bullshite than the alcohol. Booze fundamentally changes demeanor.

You can shite on it all you want, but you don't hear anything from the area since the Super Bowl improvements. But continue your shite show.

Yeah, they even trick these small time organizations like the NFL to do the Super Bowl there

Good marketing!

The good news is that the skunk weed covers up the piss smell.

Yeah. Weed is everywhere. And idiots with super loud cars. Canal street could be such a great place in that area. It's all a culmination of 16 years of Mitch Landrieu and Latoya running the city.

Always amazed at how many experts on New Orleans we have here.

Everyone on the board says they avoid the city, yet they all know the ins and outs and areas to avoid.

And those damn party buses / school buses parked along the street. They always have a crowd just loitering around

Its always disappointing to see all of the trash along Canal. Walk out of Adler's and you see vape shops and trash t-shirt stores in every direction while having to walk over people sleeping on the sidewalk.

WTF is an IADC?

Conference where a bunch of field and slab hands go to act like they're somebody.

I thought this too until I went to a conference in Indianapolis this year. That city was legit built to do nothing else.

I worked years in the quarter in a previous life. I got used to the smell of both. It’s like living downwind of a paper mill. After a while you don’t even notice.

The fact that many people from NOLA have moved to avoid the problems, but still have credible knowledge of their old town puzzles you?
Just stay on the short bus and you'll be fine.

That’s because NO has plenty of hotel rooms and plenty of good restaurants all within walking distance. This time of year, it is hot, so tourism goes down and hotels are cheap.

Perfect time to have conventions in NO.

I have retired now, but one thing I miss are conventions in New Orleans.

I moved away 20 years ago, plenty on this board a lot longer

Plenty of people who grew up in sheltered Metairie under Harry Lee (RIP) who think they are experts in everything NOLA but don’t really know what it’s like to live in the city - the only threat they lived under was being beat up by ‘thugs’ from EJ

Some may have ‘escaped’ but that doesn’t make them experts
