I feel for you, baw. Most of us have been close- many have been there. The most important thing to remember, is that this life is short. You definitely made the worst mistake a father can make. You can never have it as good as God intended it to be. But, it’s not over. Your life will now be a model of how not to do it. Sorry for you. There are two ways to learn- by watching someone do it right, and watching someone do it wrong. I had the privilege of the latter.
The good news is, you can turn this around. There are stories of marriages actually improving from these circumstances. You just better be damned sure, and be prepared to fight for it for the rest of your life.
My heart goes out to you, my friend. I have slapped my own friends in the face for the potential of your situation. And, I would expect nothing less from them.
You have dug yourself quite a hole. Time to dig yourself out of it. The devil led you into this hole. Only God can help you out of it. Just, don’t turn your back on Him when He does. Read your Bible. Perhaps, start in Proverbs. And Romans. May Gods give you wisdom, and grace.
