We all need God’s grace. You have my prayers as does your family. The most important thing is to ask for his forgiveness and learn from this mistake. Never repeat it. Own it. You can become a better person if you learn from this, but you will pay a price, as you should.

right? I just assume all the people posting stuff like that have actually cheated on their SOs at some point so they don’t see it as that bad of a thing to do. They did it so clearly it is just “aww shucks I’m only human oh well” type behavior

This is something I will never understand. If my husband wasn't faithful at some point, quickly ended it, and never did that again...I would prefer him to take it to the grave than clear his conscience by confessing that shite to me.
