This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on here and that's saying a lot.

The wheels of justice turn slowly…but they do turn.

About 45 years too late. There's no reason it should take that long. The US court system is terribly inefficient.

Should’ve been executed decades ago.
Wonder if any family of the victim is still alive?

That’s no joke. The only thing cruel and unusual about the death penalty is how long the victims family have to wait for justice
And all the tax dollars wasted letting him live.

God doesn't kill anyone
“So the LORD sent a pestilence on Israel from the morning until the appointed time. And there died of the people from Dan to Beersheba 70,000 men.”
All because David took a census of fighting men which the LORD told him to conduct (as a test). But he couldn’t bother killing David. Innocent people had to atone for David’s sin with their blood.

The same people who say the government is incompetent at everything seem to support the death penalty. Weird.

JFC...
Comparing the murder of an unborn child, who cannot be guilty of any crime, to a guy who has been convicted and sentenced to death over almost 50 years is insane to me.
I will say, I think the standards for issuing a death sentence should be examined and possibly changed. Maybe change it to where the only time a death sentence can even be considered is when there is clear-cut video evidence of first-degree murder. Something like the mass shooting in New Zealand a few years ago. Or the Buffalo grocery store shooting. Columbine.
A more recent example being the Luigi Mangione case. Regardless of one's stance on whether it was "justified" or not while considering moral questions of the company the victim ran. That has nothing to do with the act if murdering the CEO. In my scenario where death penalty rules have been revamped, his case would not be eligible to issue a death sentence. There might be enough evidence to convict him by using footage from earlier in the night like where he was filmed inside the store or wherever it was. However, his face was obscured on the footage of the actual murder. I think we all know that he is guilty of killing the Insurance CEO and will most likely be convicted. But it is not a slam dunk, without-a-shadow-of-doubt case that i would be comfortable voting to put him down if i were given a vote.
The goal is/should be to never punish a person by putting them to death if there is a sliver of doubt about their guilt. So I think the standards for sentencing someone to death should be looked at and put some very clear standards or parameters in place for when that can or cannot happen.

"I would like to thank everyone here for a humane way of doing this," Jordan said in the death chamber as he looked at the ceiling. "I wish to apologize to the family. I ask that you forgive me for what I did. Not forget, but forgive."
Jordan had been challenging the drugs used in lethal-injection executions and arguing that "Vietnam forever changed" him and left him a "traumatized man," according to his petition for clemency filed on June 16. The petition stated that Jordan served three combat tours totaling 33 months, often in perilous positions as a helicopter gunner, earning him various medals and an honorable discharge.
