In Bawcomville news: Baw tells deputies, 'This is Bawcomville, man' after car chase

A West Monroe man is facing one count of aggravated flight from an officer after driving 80 mph in a 25 mph zone.
According to an arrest report for Michael Cook, age 28, OPSO deputies noticed a white Dodge Charger driving at a high rate of speed down Evergreen Street.
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver continued speeding and did not stop. Per the report, the driver failed to observe a stop sign and traveled in the opposing lane before stopping in the 800 block of Blazier Street.
Cook was taken into custody and asked why he refused to pull over. According to the report, he stated, “This is Bawcomville, man.” Cook provided no further testimony.
The suspect was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of aggravated flight from an officer. Bail was set at $5,000, and the suspect posted bond Monday.
