I could not be in attendance to watch my daughters perform for their dance competition.

Luckily for me, I can watch it online. And now for the awards ...

In 19th place. I kid you not. Who the frick decided that awarding a team 19th place is beneficial to them?

They suck. Thank you for your money. But you suck. Get better. Tough love. If you're in the bottom half of anything in life, you're going to be on the chopping block. Set these kids up for success, not failure.

End of rant.

Dude, those are likely the special needs squads who are always present. They are super sweet kids.

Yes sir.

There's actually 40 teams, so technically they're in the top half (the team that received 19th place) but truly absurd when you think about it.

Who the frick says, hey Mom and Dad, we got 19th place!!! Except for Gaylord Focker.

At least one parent of someone in 20th place is pissed off in someone's office right now.

What makes a dance squad or whatever... 19th place opposed to 18th place?

Dance recital? Guessing there was 80 teams. Congratulate her for finishing 19th and move on. Tell her to do better next time or pickup a new sport/hobby.

If they win 12th place next year they would know they are improving.

Too busy looking up black people stories and weird fetishes I presume.

I always got last in just about everything I competed for or I just quit and didn’t finish. I wish I would’ve gotten a trophy but I didn’t.

It would help her performance and desire to do better if you'd not be a shitty dad and show support by doing things like showing up to watch her perform

I mostly played football...even if we did win district or state, we still didn't take home a trophy. My wife was a gymnast, she literally has well over a hundred medals/trophies. In one meet they could earn 4-5.

Being able to provide a roof over head, clothes on her back, and food in her stomach took priority.

Competition is becoming a dirty word. At the park where I walk my dogs, I witnessed the handing out of participation trophies for the little kids in the local baseball league.

There were more trophies than participants so the organizers left some on the tables and said that anyone who wanted one should feel free to take them. And we wonder why kids grow up expecting government to take care of them.
