Improper lane usage and speeding

Based on your driving experiences today, do you find more people are speeding and weaving in and out of traffic (to the point of recklessness)?
I do. Today, I witnessed a white BMW come out of nowhere and tailgated me (I was in the left lane passing other vehicles as one should), and he had to have been doing at least 95 to 100 mph in the middle of Baton Rouge on I-10. He swerved all the way from the far left lane across 3 lanes of traffic, used the exit lane to allow for more room, and then swerved all the way back to the left lane. He continued to weave in and out of traffic and was going at least 90 mph through the construction zone where I-10 and I-12 meet.
I'm all for raising the speed limits and believe most can on interstates, however, the complete disregard some drivers have for others (and themselves) is staggering.

Yes. I remember years ago I saw a car go onto the shoulder to pass another. I was dumbfounded at what I had seen. Now it’s a regular occurrence.

Except you weren’t passing him. Why didn’t you move over and let him continue on his way?
You aren’t the left lane police. So while it’s all well and good that you’re passing “as you should”, you need to get the hell out of the way and let him by. Regardless of whether he’s speeding or not.

Baton Rouge has the deadliest interstate in the country
and I absolutely believe cops have stopped giving a shite in the past few years. it’s noticeable.

Of course it’s more common. Running re lights scares me more because I’m usually in the city. Some will at least slow down and treat it like a stop sign

That’s a new one. I usually see the opposite. Driving in the left lane, and then suddenly cutting across several lanes at about a 45° angle to take an exit at the last possible moment.

As someone who drives around 30k miles a year, you also have a lot more idiots on the road who believe they can police everyone around them. Left lane drivers doing 5 mph under the speed limit, tapping brakes in front of big rigs to get them to slow down to what they believe is safe, people merging on to interstates or highways at 45 instead of the 65 or 70 mph it is. I've turned into a more aggressive driver because it tends to be safer than driving with the pack.

Sorry baw. I was crowning and that little turtle head was literally touching cloth, if you know what I mean.

These are the people who technically are passing the vehicle to the right. But only going 1 or 2 MPH until you eventually pass the vehicle five minutes later.

Why can't you just get over and let the other driver pass?

Because he appeared to have come on from the Bluebonnet on-ramp and I was in the very far left lane passing other vehicles. It's the only explanation I have as I constantly check my rear view mirror, and even more so when I am in the left lane. I'm very mindful to not stay in the left lane. I use it only for passing.

If I'm passing other cars(as it's seems op was doing according to his post) you can wait till I'm done passing said cars and I get back over.
I do enjoy these posts though.
The hypocrisy of those who scream and beat their chest because someone is breaking the law and driving too slow in the left lane. All while breaking the law speeding and probably playing on their cellphone.
Left lane is for passing, but legally still obeying the speed limit

Wasn't passing fast enough. Move over.

Get the BMW owner in here and we will tell him not to pass on the shoulder or whatever.
All we have right now is the OP admitting to holding up traffic.

Well maybe if everyone would quit using the left and middle lanes only, then traffic would flow better, and the fast people can stay in the left lane.
I gotta say though, I’ve seen more and more people using the on ramps in BR as a way to pass people. Very reckless and I’m probably more of an aggressive driver so that’s saying something coming from me.
The thing is nobody knows how to drive in this city, incompetent road infrastructure and government officials, so this is the result you get.
