She said it ran out earlier when she opened the garage door and had the door to the house open.

She is starting to blame herself.

If you tell the truth, she may blame herself even more for letting it out. Might be best to let her think it ran away.

All depends on whether or not the cat had been declawed.

I think that's what I'll do, get her a good gift tomorrow for their anniversary.

Maybe I should stop somewhere and throw the cat out or something, I dunno.

Nah, drive around with it for a few days until it develops a nice bouquet.

Time to man up and tell her the truth.

I have had cats longer than most of you have been alive (since 1950). I still remember cats that disappeared. I also remember my first cat died from being poisoned when I was six. He cameup our hillside slowly, could barely jump up on my bed and just lay there. My parents could tell something was wrong, let me go to sleep then took the cat to a quiet part of the house where he died before morning. I was a teenager before they told me he was poisoned, until then I just thought he had died. What did I know about cat longevity at that age?

Tell her the truth. She deserves not to worry about the cat.

Man, I was all on board this being real, but your story keeps modifying based off info in the thread.

Is good entertainment though.

It's real man, serious as a heart attack. Changed because I'm looking for advice. I'm going to let her think it ran away.
My Dad has something to hold over my head now, I guess.
Still feel like TPOS

Probably

Or you could just come clean

Do you think your dad isn’t going to tell her?

Then let your dad tell her tonight

They can have death sex tonight (and be thankful it is neither of them)
Then anniversary sex tomorrow

You dad will love you but I would let your dad test the food next time your mom feeds you just in case.
