I was a sophomore in High school when MTV first came on the air. Since many American artists didn’t have music videos at that time, a majority of the music being played was from the UK.

Kennedy, who was also a VJ at the time, is now a Fox News contributor. I think she has her own show on Fox Business

some pointless, idiotic morning show on ESPN2 back in the late 90s - called “Cold Pizza” or some shite like that.
It was on in the mid-2000s, and it was the OG ESPN morning talk show that spawned 1st & 10, and eventually First Take.
You can basically thank Cold Pizza for Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith becoming household names.

You at least knew MTV still existed. I just watched Mobland and was shocked when I saw it was produced by MTV Entertainment Studios.

I was a sophomore in high school (1980) when my friend told me in science class, “there”s a channel on cable tv that plays nothing but rock concert clips. You need to come over and check it out.” No way in heck my parents were paying for cable.
We had Friday Night Videos!
Didn't have cable for most of my childhood except when my dad would order it for a few months at a time when he wanted to watch some big fight. But Friday Night Videos, and I think some local show in Houston showed some videos from a local dance club, sometimes filmed at Astroworld.

MTV Spring Break had some T&A gold for a young man with slow internet access.
