So you're one of those idiots who barely roll down the window when stopped by a cop and challenges their authority to get your ID. Do you video all your encounters and post them on social media?

Your quest to prove the government wrong for a moral victory has made you blind and ignorant to see how much you've screwed your son over

Would you care to quantity how you imagine I have "screwed over my son"?

Well, he has you for a dad and you seem like a real joy to deal with.

Yes. I expect this will be resolved in a reasonable time frame.
Private lawsuits take a long time, but filing a lawsuit against a public agency and hoping for something to happen quick is insanity. Its your right to file a lawsuit, but if you are serious about it your timeline (and bank account) need to be prepared for the long haul.

he has you for a dad
OP...what disadvantage would your son endure if today he applied for and recieved a fee SSN?

I would to see you have a conversation with one of my co workers who claims that speed limits only apply to vehicles that are involved in interstate commerce. He claims as as private citizens vehicles that speed limits are unconstitutional

Fair enough. I’ll retract my statement.
It’s just funny - this guy keeps arguing that he’s doing this awesome thing to “fight the power” and there’s really no benefit to doing this. It’s a waste of everyone’s time and energy. It’s a waste of money and tax dollars. It’s just wasteful in the face of real problems on the world.
So I can’t quantify how this has screwed his kid over. Just like OP can’t quantify the benefit of not having a SSN for his kid.

I imagine he also doesn’t believe in credit, credit cards or loans and pays for everything in “cash”

There's a difference between doing it because you want to be debt free and doing it because you have no choice because you cannot get a credit card or a loan because you do not possess the necessary credentials to get a credit score and therefore can't get a loan, a credit card, buy a car, open a bank account etc.
I have no debt, but I do use either the debit card for everything or a credit card to get points... but they are always paid off. So no debt. And sometimes a little "freebie" if you want to call it that.
For instance, the apple card... 2% cash back every single time we buy groceries and used apple pay at the grocery. Set to auto pay the balance on the due date. Free money.

Assuming my son did have a SS number, he'd be required to turn it over to the DMV.
Like they've done with your social security number and mine AND everyone else in the state on TWO separate occasions, it would get leaked on the internet.
This way, he gets his license without giving over his SS #. Even if he does get one later, he's not beholding on the state to safeguard it.

Is your son planning on going to college? He will need a ssn to get TOPS.

I’m not necessarily talking about debt, im talking about the ability to access credit.

quote:no offense but you are all over the place with this (your motivation). First you said it was because SS is a mandatory investment with poor returns. Then you said it was because your son “might never need to have a job”. Now you are saying it’s because the state can’t be trusted to safeguard the data.

help us out here…you started this. Why is it so important that your son not have a SSN prior to getting his drivers license?

I was answering a direct question. The question was "what benefit does it have today". That was my answer, not my motivation.
My motivation is the same as I stated before. I want to give my son the choice on what he does.
This is out in left field and not part of my motivation, it's just a hypothetical...
What if your child comes to you at 15 years old and says "Dad, for religious reasons, I don't want you to get me a social security number".
What is your response? "Sorry but I couldn't pass up that sweet child tax credit?"
Like I said a number of times. It's his choice what he wants to do. He may turn 18 become a missionary and live in the jungle, who knows. Again, it's his choice.

He’s already been at this with the DMV for 6 months. His son is going to be 16 by the time this case is over with. He will have missed out on a full year of having a learners permit.
Imagine him explaining to his 15 year old friends that he can’t get a learners permit because his dad is suing the DMV so that he doesn’t have to get a SSN.
You’re just using your son in your personal tirade against “government overreach” for requiring identification that 99% of all citizens have. Even if you’re right, almost no good comes of this.

You are an idiot. You think you are smarter than everyone else and your "cuteness" is resulting in you getting called out for your bullshite.
You are affecting your son's life in a negative way. You should be ashamed. I feel sorry for your son.
What a moron.
