You went to see a movie with a mostly black cast about a trip to the Essence Festival, and you are surprised that you were the only white people there?

And I'm calling bullshite on this, strangers were actually trying to take your wives picture because she was white and in line for Girls trip

Really, a bad movie and D&B experience is what turned you off? Not the rampant rape, murder, and drugs? Or fascism like tearing down monuments?

Saturday night, we met up with another couple and decided to give Dave and Buster's a try. We have been before to the locations in other cities, and had a great time.
It is a disaster. Several games were broken. It was crazy crowded, mostly with people standing around. The music was sooo loud that you could not even talk. We saw three fights in one hour. The entire place was ghetto-fabulous, despite having a dress code and at least a half-dozen OPSO officers on detail duty.
I don't think there's a person in this SLA that didn't see that coming.

It baffles me how there are so many people that hate and despise New Orleans and could not care less about the city yet always find themselves posting in New Orleans threads and they don't even live in the city.
Really? You're really baffled by that?
You must be one dumb son of a bitch then, cause you can find people from all over dogging on any city discussed here.

I didn't mean you personally. I'm assuming you live in the city so you're part of the population.

while my wife stood in line for the movie to get a seat. The entire time, all she heard were comments like, "that white girl must be lost", "why is that white girl here", and people trying to sneakily take her picture

Girls Trip. We are white. I joked to my wife before hand that we might be the only white people in the theater.
Ahh, so that's why it looked very dark in the AMC last Friday. I figured they weren't there for Dunkirk.

At one point in my life I wanted to visit New Orleans and Louisiana. Then I joined this website and saw how corrupt and arse backwards the state and larger cities are. I'm sure most of the residents are great people, but I have zero desire to go to Louisiana outside of attending a UT vs LSU game once in my life.
Do you feel better to get that off your chest? Because I don't think anyone really gives a shite what you once wanted to do but was too much of a pussy to do it.

When we lived in Houston, black people didn't act like this (no one acted like this).
so the Mexicans did? let's not lie.

The two biggest celebrities in New Orleans are Payton and Brees. Both choose to live elsewhere as often as possible. Tells you all you need to know about New Orleans.

It was really depressing for me to drive into NOLA after coming home from vacation this year... you pass through Florida, Alabama, and then even Mississippi, everything's nice and clean, then when you come into New Orleans East, my god... it's like a 3rd world country.. disgusting and embarrassing

yes Im baffled why people that choose to live in places like Boston, Arizona, Alaska, Houston, Boulder, etc....are in every thread that bashes new orleans more than they would be in any other thread. Have you not noticed that the New Orleans posters couldnt give 2 shits about bashing other cities we dont live in? Mostly because we dont give a shite one way or another about other cities we dont live in

It does suck when shitty people disrupt your experience
Only theaters I go to are Broad Theater, Canal Place, and Prytania.
To avoid shite like that. Although I did have a crappy experience at Broad Theater recently due to some ignorant people.
I haven't been yet but I would only ever venture there early in the week.
